I had spoken to Mike, the service manager who helped me with what the cost would be for a new battery, trying to decide if I was going to take my car to my normal mechanic, a family business, or Koons whic with what the cost would be for a new battery, trying to decide if I was going to take my car to my normal mechanic, a family business, or Koons which was much closer. He spent a lot of time on the phone with me, very patient and emailed me an estimate for a battery, oil change and tire rotation. I had concerns after getting a new battery put in for my 2019 Rav 4 which I assumed would have been corrected after the battery was put in, hence, I didn’t mention it to the mechanic beforehand. Upon checking out I discovered, no difference with the computer issues, or the lack of, no radio, gps, Bluetooth, etc. I went back in and explained the errors that came about when the battery died and then jump started and my assumptions to getting a new battery. Jacob, the mechanic that day told me what it would cost just to get it diagnosed which was something crazy. I walked out very upset and the staff knew it. The service manager, Mike, called me first thing in the morning inquiring about my dissatisfaction. There was also an issue with the check out price compared to the estimate Mike had sent me earlier. Jacob saw the estimate email Mike had sent me and “finally” corrected it. After talking with Mike he realized he had sent the wrong invoice. I vaguely remember on the phone the day before, Mike correcting a quote but what was sent to me was different. I appreciate Jacob fixing my bill to what I had been quoted originally. I truly appreciate Mike’s time with me. He insisted I bring the car back in for them to check out, with no extra charge for the diagnosis. I love how their appointment times were many to choose from making it convenient. Mike set me up with James. He discovered it just needed an update which he did and now is back to normal with no extra charge. I’d like to add, that I believe when putting a battery in, mechanics should do more than make sure the car starts. They should also see that the normal, every day computerized components are working as well. The screen was flashing then back to completely black when the car started. To me it was obvious there was a connection issue. If I took it to my family’s auto repair shop it would have been noticed and dealt with OR, it would have been pulled back into the shop if I mentioned it. That would have been with any customer, not just me because I’m family. So, I hope Koons does better with that. But all in all I am most pleased with how Mike went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with end result of my visit. More
