I have made some pretty bad decisions when buying cars. When I went to Toyota of Wallingford, I was hoping to gather some information, prices, warranty options, financing options, and bring that home to ma When I went to Toyota of Wallingford, I was hoping to gather some information, prices, warranty options, financing options, and bring that home to make an informed decision about buying my next car. After talking to Steve Lang about a used car, after a couple test drives, I decided what I wanted to buy. I asked for the “out the door price”. Apparently Toyota of Wallingford can’t, or doesn’t know how to, do that. Steve got some numbers together for me and printed everything out, including a Carfax on a vehicle. When I told Steve I wanted to go over the numbers at home, he shook my hand, thanked me for coming in, and gathered up all the paperwork he printed out, and told me to have a good night. Toyota of Wallingford is lucky they made a sal from me. I went back the next day to purchase the car. Appointment was at 5pm. I arrived at 4:45pm. Car wasn’t ready for me until after 6pm. Took them all day to detail it to make it perfect for me. Yeah right. I was hoping that the days of having to make deals, listen to sales tactics and lies were over. I guess not. Someday I hope to be able to go to a dealership, test drive a car, get the best price they can offer, tell me about what financing and warranty options I have, and leave. Shouldn’t be a 2 day, 4 hour process… More
