Dealer mistakes. Management not fixing its problems. October 10th 2018 Yesterday, I wrote that Elder. "..offered me a truck for $2,306 more than their quote and to deliver it four months late. Then October 10th 2018 Yesterday, I wrote that Elder. "..offered me a truck for $2,306 more than their quote and to deliver it four months late. Then they offered a truck that didn't match the features I required and didn't offer to add those features at their cost. In other words; pay more, get less, and get it months late." Elder replied... "...I may not be able to change the past but, if you give us a chance, I’ll make it up to you. General Manager Dan Sills" I am open (and have been open) to giving Elder Ford a chance. I would be happy to purchase a truck with the features we originally agreed to and at the cost we originally agreed to. But Elder Ford management declined this request two days ago. Instead, Elder Ford offered a truck that meets my specs for $2,306 more, or a truck that doesn't meet my specs. ==================================== On July 6, 2018 I signed a buyers order with Elder Ford for a Transit cutaway. Vehicle delivery was estimated to be 6-8 weeks. I requested order status updates from Elder on July 19, August 10, August 29, September 14, September 17 and September 26. Only on October 1st did I learn that my order had been suspended due to errors by Elder Ford. How did Elder Ford offer a fix? Would they offer a similar truck for a similar price? No. They offered me a truck for $2,306 more than their quote and to deliver it four months late. Then they offered a truck that didn't match the features I required and didn't offer to add those features at their cost. In other words; pay more, get less, and get it months late. The result was that my business schedule was thrown way off. It has also resulted in additional costs and scheduling headaches for me and a contractor I hired for a customized interior. More
