Worst experience in the 3 decades I have been going there. Took my vehicle in for a recall repair (life safety issue). Dealer says yes, it's part of the recall but you the customer has to pay for it there. Took my vehicle in for a recall repair (life safety issue). Dealer says yes, it's part of the recall but you the customer has to pay for it because Ford has not made the recall "active" even though I got a notice and it's on the NHTSA website as well. Long story short I was able to negotiate a lower out of pocket but that like saying a thief comes in takes all your belongings and yes ok I'll leave the TV. Am I supposed to thank you or is it still felony theft? This recall alone impacts over 740,000 vehicles (my vehicle also has 3 other recalls). Ford was number 1 in recalls in 2025 nearly doubling the number previously set by GM. Every car they manufacture is impacted and Ford's position is we'll let you know about them, but the customer has to pay for our lack of quality control. Rest assured I will not be buying another Ford, and the dealerships are all coconspirators as they do nothing to fight for their customer's rights even when they agree Ford is wrong. Read this and tell 3 friends Ford forgot that customer loyalty is a 2-way street and that we have choices in what we drive. More

Every moment of this purchase what absolutely gut wrenching. The dealership had so many opportunities to improve my experience and pushed me to the side every time. Considering I still spent almost 5 wrenching. The dealership had so many opportunities to improve my experience and pushed me to the side every time. Considering I still spent almost 5000 dollars out of pocket to get into a car I didn’t even want, you’d think they’d at LEAST try to be courteous and respectful. Both of the vehicles I got from them broke down within 48 hours of purchase. I sat for 8+ hours BOTH times I was there with no indication of progress on my deal, or progress on fixing the SECOND car I got from them. I will not EVER recommend this dealership to ANYONE. The amount of business Elder Ford could have received from a client like me, with such heavy roots in Tampa, just thrown to the side because they treated me like a problem instead of treating like I was spending a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money. ALSO, for my first purchase, there was a hidden fee of over 3000 dollars for a “maintenance package” that I was never informed about, and instead of taking credibility for the mistake an employee made, they just told me the guy who did my financing was fired. Absolutely disgusting shady financing techniques used by these people. When I asked questions about how my money was being spent, or why I was unable to get approved for certain vehicles, I was told “I don’t know” A CONCERNING AMOUNT OF TIMES. How do so many people handle so much money, yet still have no answers? I would ask to speak to a manager, a sales associate would come to me and hour later and explain the manager was busy. I spent an entire day at the dealership waiting to see a manager. I find it deplorable that these people are allowed to take your money, leave you out to dry, and never held accountable for their actions. Can’t even answer simple questions. Left a terrible taste in my mouth. Would rather die before returning to Elder Ford. More

I had a service job done, I was told my car had an additional diagnostic test done after replacing the parts that needed to be fixed on my car and that my car was running fine. I paid just about 1,000 additional diagnostic test done after replacing the parts that needed to be fixed on my car and that my car was running fine. I paid just about 1,000 dollar for the maintenance just find out my car was still running bad. Check engine light was on, car was stuttering and jerking when driving it. I ended up having sell my car because of the issues I was having with it. After leaving a bad review, I was contacted by Arne the service manager that I would receive a refund only if I left a better review. I left a better review, however, it wasn’t 5 stars like he asked it to be (because he wants his service location to look good and cover up bad reviews) so he told me that he wouldn’t give me my refund. I then followed up with a bad google review, the GM Dan Sills responded to it apologizing leaving me with his phone number to contact him regarding my refund. Mind you, this guy copy’s and paste the same message on all bad reviews. I reached out 3 times, left 3 voicemails, sent a email and never got a response after 2 weeks of waiting to hear back from him. Called the customer complaint line, filed a complaint and created a case report. The report was sent over to the service manager or GM (not sure), it’s been over a week and never got a response. More

This version hits harder, stays focused, and reads like a credible warning to other buyers instead of an emotional rant. That makes it more damaging and more believable. Elder Ford of Tampa put me through credible warning to other buyers instead of an emotional rant. That makes it more damaging and more believable. Elder Ford of Tampa put me through one of the most dishonest and humiliating vehicle buying experiences I have ever dealt with. I was allowed to take delivery of a vehicle under what was presented to me as a completed and approved transaction. At no point did anyone clearly explain that this was a spot delivery or conditional financing arrangement. I signed paperwork, took possession of the vehicle, and reasonably believed the deal was finalized. I even contacted Cheyenne Lightfoot from their customer care team on May 12th specifically to confirm I was NOT being put into a spot delivery situation. She confirmed via text that I was not. Then, 13 days after signing paperwork and taking the vehicle home, Finance Director Robert Filuta contacted me and admitted financing had NOT actually been finalized and demanded additional proof of income again. By that point, I had already spent over $1,000 on new tires and a front-end alignment for the vehicle because I believed the sale was complete. Then things got worse. When I pushed back and called out the dealership over the spot delivery situation, Robert Filuta threatened to cancel the deal entirely. I was also pressured into submitting a 5-star review through Ford while the deal itself was still unresolved. Think about that for a second. They wanted positive public reviews while simultaneously threatening to unwind the transaction. Their General Manager never responded to me. Nobody from Lithia responded either. Now I am left without a vehicle, without my down payment money, and potentially out the money I spent improving a vehicle they allowed me to believe was mine. This dealership’s sales and finance practices destroyed any trust I had in them. Consumers deserve transparency, honesty, and straightforward communication during one of the largest financial transactions most people make. My experience with Elder Ford of Tampa was the exact opposite. More
