I was surprised by how much variability there was in honesty, straightforwardness, pressured sales tactics, and propensity to exploit the demand to soak as much money out of the consumer as possible. I purchased my Leaf with Younger Nissan because it and one other dealership (Tri-State in Winchester, VA) were, by far, the most straightforward and pleasurable to deal with on cost and low pressure tactics of all the dealers I had corresponded with. So I went to Younger Nissan of Frederick today and yesterday in hopes of potentially buying an SUV. Yesterday I met with a salesman named Frank who was nice enough and his manager. I reiterated several times (at least 10) that I needed someone to work with me a little on the price. They said they would definitely try there best to do that. I went back today prepared to buy a car. I had one in mind and when it came down to getting the final out the door number, Frank went to a different manager as the other one was off today and he came back and said the number was firm. This took me by surprise. After telling him I did say SEVERAL times I need someone to work with me even just a little he said I'm sorry, this is the best they said I can do. Another manager came over who was a little more rigid and try to man-splain to me why he can't discount anything. I said that is fine but I won't be buying the car. Then he started saying well we will work with you on the APR which I wasn't worried about because I have USAA. They weren't getting my point. The guy was rude. Maybe because I am a woman and this guy just didn't want to deal with a woman, I have no idea. I walked out and got in my car. I was okay with walking away. Then the manager comes out and taps on my window and I roll it down to try to prove one of my points is wrong. I was STUNNED! I've been in Sales and Customer Service for 40 years and I've never a more disgusting move than that...which led me to even leave this review! If we couldn't agree on the number, fine...LEAVE IT! But don't try to get a last word in. That is completely unprofessional and unnecessary!!! I was really considering going back for the car but I think I would rather drive a flinestones car then have to deal with people who say yes will take care of you one day and then have what happened to me today the next. Too many car dealerships out there to have to deal with that. More
