Started great but still working through the final details! I found my used car online and the initial communication was immediate and excellent. We finally worked through a deal (mostly via text messages) and I found my used car online and the initial communication was immediate and excellent. We finally worked through a deal (mostly via text messages) and they even offered to drive the car 5 hours to me on a Saturday while still having the option to back out. I ended up buying it that day, and have been very happy with it since. There have even been a few follow up items with the salesperson on a few outstanding items. The paperwork was a different story. I was contacted by Herlong the day before my temporary tags expired and told that they were sending the paperwork overnight to my DMV, and I needed to visit the DMV the following day to finalize my tags and avoid penalty (I was in Texas at the time). After scrambling to do that, I found out that my tags could not be transferred from my old car (I am still not entirely clear why but according to the DMV it had to do with how the title was written/transferred), and now I had to pay a civil penalty for not carrying insurance on my old tags. Then 3 days before my payment was due and I still had not received paperwork from the lender, the dealer called to say that my paperwork had been stuck in Ohio due to the snow and that I needed to make my first payment over the phone. So what started out as a really great experience has left me a bit sour in the end. More

They gave me a good value on my trade that I was pleased with and Had no hesitation on answering any question I had. They allowed me to spend a lot of time with the truck test driving and getting very familiar with everything about it. There was no pressure in purchasing the truck and super hospitality. 6 hours later--no truck! Found a truck online. Dealt with Fred Munns who was very nice and helpful. Drove 3 1/2 hours to get the truck. Arrived at 9 a.m. Test drove it and Found a truck online. Dealt with Fred Munns who was very nice and helpful. Drove 3 1/2 hours to get the truck. Arrived at 9 a.m. Test drove it and noticed a scratch in the factory tinting on the back window. Fred sent it to the detail shop. They put compound on it, buffed it, and heated it to get the material to come back together. Worker said he was able to get it where you could not see it, but he could not get it out. It was still there. Fred checked to see how much a new window would cost to install. THIS TOOK AN HOUR! Finally said it would cost $960--which we thought they would and should do. ANOTHER HOUR after asking the sales manager, we learn they are only willing to concede half the cost ($500). That just didn't sit well with us when were paying 70K for a new truck. (It also did not sit well that the sales manager talked about how she could not just pay $1000 for something you could hardly see when she was expecting us to pay 70K for something that we knew was not right.) We went to lunch to think it over, decided we would go ahead with the deal. The paperwork process started and THREE HOURS LATER we were still sitting with no financing info, no papers signed, and no truck. We finally left! More

do the same thing over and over and expect different results Purchased a used car from Herlong and it had some issues. I've been back to the dealership 5-6 times to get one ride issue resolved and all they do Purchased a used car from Herlong and it had some issues. I've been back to the dealership 5-6 times to get one ride issue resolved and all they do is rebalance the tires. Salesman is now complaining that they're losing money on the vehicle now because they keep having to work on it. Purchase paperwork says that they would take care of it. I've told them it's a bad tire, yet all they do is rebalance, drive, and say it's good now.....only to find out that it's not later down the road. He's apparently not concerned about the money that I've spent taking it back and forth nor the time that I've wasted trying to get it corrected. Don't waste your time with them. More
