My wife was going to take a little more convincing because we recently bought her Mazda at the other local dealership and that day sucked. Everyone at the Mazda of Elk Grove dealership was honest and easy to work with, no hidden costs, my trade in was exactly what I asked for, and Garrett walked us through the process from start to finish. I drove home in my brand new CX3 with a big smile on my face! 10/10 would recommend Garrett and the entire team at Mazda of Elk Grove. Shout out to Dave and Vu who also made this super fun and easy! Not wanting to go back to the other place, we landed in Elk Grove Mazda, I was completely unprepared for the ease, no haggle, honest approach of this team. I was so pleased with the service we received from start to finish. We live in SF and we found the dealership Erk Grove Mazda has a great deal for purchasing a new car plus i checked this dealership has a high rating for purchasing the car. So i requested the quote and test drive. Garrett was so good to provide us the quote and test drive confirmation by email and text message. After we arrived to the dealership, we meet with Garrett. Garrett is very friendly and good detail oriented. He explained the differences between sport and touring trims for us. While we are doing the test drive, he shows us how to use the functions for the car. After the test driving, we are very happy and decide to purchase the car. Garrett Oxnaes at Elk Grove Mazda contacted us Satur Where to start?! We initiated the purchase of my wife's new 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature on TrueCar. Garrett Oxnaes at Elk Grove Mazda contacted us Saturday afternoon. We negotiated the deal over the phone and took delivery that same evening. There were no unwelcome surprises or pressure; only the kind of professionalism and customer care that you just don't see as much as you really want to these days. We purchased our last two Mazdas at AutoNation Mazda before they pulled out of the Roseville Auto Mall a few months ago. We were VERY exited to hear from Garrett that Elk Grove Mazda will be setting up shop there shortly. That's a nice bonus considering we feel like we've begun a relationship with a dealer, and a salesman, that cares not only about the immediate sale but also everything that comes after. We've bought a lot of cars from a lot of sales people over the years but not very many who warrant a review like this. Terrible buying experience Had worked out a mutually agreed upon deal online with Nick over the course of a few days and several emails. Came in to close, was handed off to Garr Had worked out a mutually agreed upon deal online with Nick over the course of a few days and several emails. Came in to close, was handed off to Garrett (seems to be their normal way of operating from my experiences with this dealership), and pretty much immediately advised they cannot make the deal work and it was impossible. He then spent the next half hour backtracking and doing whatever he could to convince me they wouldn't honor the deal, it wasn't their fault, and that they couldn't do anything close. I mostly held firm and after another hour of pushing back and forth with Garrett and his manager Grant, we were stuck and they refused to meet my price -which was higher than the prior email agreed upon deal. Exceedingly frustrated and hungry, left and went home. No less than 5 minutes at home, Garrett called saying they can make my last price work (still more than email agreement) if I rushed back and did it that night. Against my better reasoning and frustration, I went back in and spent until midnight filling out the paperwork. Looking back, I regret going back in on their terms after they renegged on their email deal and then attempted to hardball me back to a crummy deal. I absolutely love the car itself, but will always feel poorly towards the sales interaction and regret not stepping back to talk further with Maita or Bay dealers. I just hope the car treats me better than Elk Grove Mazda's sales team. More
