Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand how that charge could be frustrating, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify. The fee was not for diagnosing the battery, but for the labor involved in replacing it and resetting the vehicle’s battery monitoring system. On your 2019 Escape, accessing the battery requires additional steps, including removing components to reach it safely, which adds to the labor time. That said, we did reduce the charge compared to our standard rate in consideration of the extra work involved. We never want anyone to feel uncomfortable or unclear about their service, and your feedback is important to us. If you’d like to discuss this further, we’d be more than happy to connect and review everything with you in detail.
