I am writing to formally document the issues I have experienced with a vehicle purchased from Advantage Chevrolet. I began the purchase process over the phone and traveled from Buffalo, New York, on experienced with a vehicle purchased from Advantage Chevrolet. I began the purchase process over the phone and traveled from Buffalo, New York, on May 30 to pick up the vehicle. Before traveling, I specifically asked about the Carfax and vehicle history. I was told everything was good, aside from a minor front-end collision resulting in less than $500 in reported damage. No other major issues were disclosed. Before leaving the dealership, the Service Brake Assist warning light came on. I was told the brakes had recently been serviced and that the code had simply not been reset. The vehicle was kept in the service department for approximately an hour and a half, and I was told the issue had been fixed. Approximately 150–200 miles into my drive home, the warning light came back on. I immediately contacted the salesman and continued following up. About a week later, I was told to make an appointment with a Chevrolet dealer. When the vehicle was finally inspected, I was informed that the driver-side front caliper was seized and that the vehicle needed brake pads and rotors. I also learned that the master cylinder was bad and that the engine and cabin air filters were severely clogged. I repeatedly attempted to contact Advantage Chevrolet but was often sent to full voicemails or people who no longer worked there. I eventually spoke with the general manager, who told me it was a "done deal" and essentially told me to "xxxx off." On July 28, the truck broke down on the highway and had to be towed to Jim Murphy Chevrolet. I was informed that the engine had seized. I was also told that the vehicle had previously been sold twice at auction due to engine-related issues, information that was never disclosed to me when I purchased the truck. I relied on the information provided by Advantage Chevrolet when making this purchase and would not have purchased the vehicle had I known about its prior engine problems and mechanical condition. More

Completely unethical and deceptive — my name was added to a car loan without my knowledge or consent. I normally never write reviews, but what happened at Advantage Chevrolet of Bridgeview was shocking to a car loan without my knowledge or consent. I normally never write reviews, but what happened at Advantage Chevrolet of Bridgeview was shocking and unacceptable. A manager from the dealership came to our home with paperwork and pressured my husband and me to sign “quickly” so we could secure a special interest rate. He never explained that I was being added as a signer or co-signer on the loan. He never gave us paperwork to review. He did not provide copies after signing. I was led to believe I was signing simple documents — not a legally binding loan. I only found out my name was on the loan when the bank called me days later. After asking for copies of the paperwork, we discovered: The dealership added extra charges we never agreed to. They did not apply the tax credit for the vehicle being traded. They did not transfer the warranty we already paid for. The interest rate promised (below 6%) was actually 8.79%. Most importantly, I never agreed to be added to the financing, yet they still used my name. When my husband went to the dealership to ask for answers, they yelled at him, insulted him, and even called the police instead of providing the paperwork. This dealership engages in high-pressure tactics, misrepresentation, and unethical behavior, especially toward customers who trust them. I advise anyone reading this: Protect yourself, ask for everything in writing, and avoid signing anything without full documentation. Our experience has been extremely stressful and unacceptable. Despite buying an extended GWC warranty, my experience with the dealers like a smooth transaction quickly turned into a frustrating series of events. Despite buying an extended GWC warranty, my experience with the dealership's service team has been far from satisfactory. Timeline of Issues: Alternator Failure (January 2023): Less than a month after purchase, the alternator went out. Initially, I was told I would have to pay for the repairs. After pushing back, the manager finally agreed to cover the cost, which should have been the case from the start given how soon the issue arose. Steering & Service Light Concerns (February 2024): I brought the car in multiple times because the steering was stiff and the service light came on, yet the only solution offered was another oil change. Despite my insistence that something more serious was wrong, I was dismissed. The problem persisted, and it took another visit to even be acknowledged properly. Dismissed & Sent to Audi (February 2024): After being told the issue would require a $175 diagnostic fee, I reminded the team that I had an extended warranty. The advisor struggled to find my coverage at first, adding unnecessary stress to the situation. Even when the warranty was finally located, I was told no one could service my car that day, and there were no loaner vehicles available. I was advised to take the car to an Audi dealership instead. Audi Diagnosis – Unsafe Vehicle (Late February 2024): I ended up taking the car to Audi Westmont, where the advisor informed me the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The repairs required totaled over $10,000, and my warranty only covered a fraction of the costs. I was devastated to hear that key components like the axle, motor mounts, and steering shaft were in critical condition—especially considering I had just purchased the car. Throughout this ordeal, I felt ignored and dismissed by the service team. Despite raising concerns about driving an unsafe vehicle with my children, the lack of care, empathy, and clear communication from the dealership was appalling. I reached out to the dealership management and was told corrective actions would be taken if my claims were verified. I was also promised that someone from the service department would reach out with a solution, but at this point, I feel completely let down. I’ve requested the used car inspection report and any videos from my previous visits to understand what was missed before the sale. For now, I’m left feeling dissatisfied with the way my situation has been handled. More
