Called about a vehicle listed online. Requested to put a hold on it. We were told it would be 500 non refundable to hold it from Monday to Thursday, when we could get to Ft Wayne from Day Requested to put a hold on it. We were told it would be 500 non refundable to hold it from Monday to Thursday, when we could get to Ft Wayne from Dayton. We were certain we were purchasing it, so we had no issue with that. Jeff at the dealership proceeded to next us non stop, asking if he could call us. We returned the call. The next day, he started messaging again and then called. Stated that his manager said he couldn't hold the car until Thursday with 500, as they had so much interest in the car. However for 1,000 they could hold it. We were not asked for ANY info about the potential sale, not even our names. Just our credit card number to charge us 500 bucks. I called the manager and spoke with Josh. Explained that we were 99% certain we were going to purchase the van, had a nice trade, were preapproved, and just couldn't get there until Thursday due to being 2.5 hours away. Josh said, "I appreciate what you bring to the table but in fairness to the other dealerships under our name, I can't hold it until Thursday without 1,000 deposit. There's no interested in it but I'm not going to do it or honor what the sales person told you." I hung up and thought... Well if we're concerned about fairness then let's play that game. I called another dealership under the Odaniel name and explained what happened. I asked if they could transfer the car to their dealership, "out of fairness", of course. The other dealership made the process so easy. We had everything done before we even left, so we were in and out in 2.5 hours, 30minutes of which was a test drive. Odaniel Mazda literally does not care how qualified you are, how easy the sale will be, or what their sales people tell you. They are concerned with playing stupid games, so they won this review and lost the sale. More
