Overall we had a horrible experience. We live almost 4 hrs away, so all negotiating had to be done over the phone. I first dealt with Jonathan and things started out ok, but I was disappointed to hear that they are unable to hold on to a car, even with a deposit. I was also told that there wasn't really any wiggle room on the price. However, the morning we were going to agree to a deal, the online price dropped $1,000 (so much for there being no wiggle room). They seemed surprised by the big discount, but agreed to honor the price. It appears they’re so disorganized that the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. He said we would talk again tomorrow, but when I called the next day, I found out that he has the day off. Did he forget that he promised to speak with a customer the following day? At this point, they passed me off to the GM Omid. I told him I wanted to move forward but Jonathan left me hanging. Come to find out they can hold a vehicle for a $500 deposit. We drove out there and I took the car to a local mechanic to give it a pre-purchase inspection, even though Jonathan assured me that it would not be necessary. This is when things started to fall apart. The local mechanic found multiple issues that needed to be addressed. When we got back we told Madison all of our concerns. She was nice enough, but after we explained everything she had no empathy for our situation whatsoever. On top of that she was trying to steer us towards some new EV car with some special 3rd party battery that would supposedly “never die.” I didn’t really want to go into battery degradation and how that isn’t possible, so I just got up and stretched my legs. At some point Jesus (introduced as the head of the Service dept) sat down and offered no real way to improve the situation. In the end, we agreed to stay until Monday morning, in hopes that the repairs could be made and we drive the car home. We were told that the service team would get to it Monday morning, some time between 9-10am, whenever the mechanics get in. At some point Madison convinced my wife to fill out some sort of insurance survey. When I pressed her on whether or not this was necessary, she finally admitted that it was optional, something she failed to mention to my wife before she took down all her personal info. Thanks to her, I now get pointless emails from Geico. It is almost noon on Monday and still no update. Since there was no sense of urgency on their part, I took it upon myself to call and get a status update. They were unable to make the needed repairs in time, but said they would drop the car off to us that coming weekend. Once back home, I spoke with a trusted mechanic about all the mechanical issues and they said these were serious red flags and the explanations given to me did not even make sense. At this point, I knew I needed to listen to my gut and so we informed them that we will be backing out of the deal (as was allowed) and we would need our checks returned to us. This is when things get even worse. They accidentally cashed the $10,000 cashiers check issued by my credit union. I was told on 3 different occasions, by 3 different employees (Omid, HJ and Madison) that they would NOT cash the checks until we took possession of the vehicle. There is a phrase for this when a party fails to fulfill their obligation under a legally binding agreement without a valid cause…BREACH OF CONTRACT. Next Omid called my wife with the same horrendous phone connection that he had with me (they can’t afford phones that work properly?) He said that he could cut us a check and then we would pay the credit union back. She told him that this was their problem and he should be the one to figure out how to rectify the situation, instead of making it our responsibility. He dealt with the credit union and then he had the audacity to complain that it was difficult to get a hold of the loan officer. More
