Columbia FORD/KIA byTed Verba recently we had a recall on our 17 Kia. We called for an appointment and received one immediately. The car was brought in for the repair and an oil change. As it was to take a number of hours to do the work, we had an excellent breakfast at the Thunderbird Café which is in the same building. After we ate, they provided us with a courtesy ride home with an excellent driver. When the work was completed, we were given a call. they explained all the work to us as well as have given a multiport inspection of the car. I was about to write out a check for the oil change when they told me it was still a courtesy oil change. We have bought many vehicles at Columbia FORD as well as all our service requirements over the past 10+ years and have NEVER had a bad experience. The building is a wonder to see as well as how clean the building is kept. All of the employees and I do mean all are very friendly and polite. A wonderful experience if you are interested in an honest Dealership. More

I purchased had a cargo liner, which they put in for me. one minor criticism, and it is just personal taste, is that there is no quiet place to wait. Every where you go in the building there is music and or TV. Even in the rest room. Some of us just like a quiet place to read. Other than that the experience was first rate. More

Urgent need to diagnose failure to start prior to Christmas I bought my car 3 months ago at Columbia Ford. The Thursday night prior to Christmas weekend, my Son and I went to go out to the movies, and the car I bought my car 3 months ago at Columbia Ford. The Thursday night prior to Christmas weekend, my Son and I went to go out to the movies, and the car wouldn't start. All of the dash lights, and the open door alarm, worked, but there was no ignition. I called my auto plan, who sent out a tow truck. They tried jump starting it several times, but we still only got the interior and dash lights, and the door alarm, so we both felt it wasn't the battery. They then looked it up in the computer, and diagnosed it as a "kill switch(?)", that we could reset by unplugging the battery, and letting it sit for 10 or 15 minutes. We tried that, and it started. I took it for a short drive, to make sure the battery was charged up. The next morning, I took the car to Columbia Ford. Being the Friday before Christmas, they told me they might not be able to get it in, but they would try. A couple of hours later, they called to tell me the battery was the problem after all, and they would have one in by the afternoon. This was a huge deal as I had to be in Rhode Island the next day, for Christmas at the in-laws, and I had a Christmas party that night, in Southington, so I really needed my car. Getting it in at the last minute, prior to the holiday weekend, was a really big deal, and I truly appreciate it! More

I should have been coming to Columbia Ford all along I live in Manchester, so I’ve been dealing with Hoffman Ford in E. Htfd for my 2012 Focus and it’s clutch issues for the past 6 years. I can’t even te I live in Manchester, so I’ve been dealing with Hoffman Ford in E. Htfd for my 2012 Focus and it’s clutch issues for the past 6 years. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been frustrated with Hoffman. I swear that almost every time my car has been to Hoffman for service, they have had to keep it overnight, and every time they have done a repair or replacement on the clutch issue, they have kept my car at least 3-4 days. That means I was either without a car or I had to ask, beg or demand a courtesy car to get to work and to my almost 100-year-old mother. This most recent event, I had brought my car into Hoffman about 3,000 miles ago because the lagging, bucking and surging of the tranny was making me insane. Hoffman said my car did not pass the specifications for clutch service. I spent 3,000 more miles dealing with the tranny and called Hoffman again ... now my car has 97000 miles on it, we are leaving Connecticut in the motorhome right after Thanksgiving and towing my car behind ... and Hoffman tells me they cannot even fit my car in to look at it until the first week of December. WHAT?! They can’t fit my car in FOR A MONTH?! Not only is that unacceptable in general, but we won’t even BE here the first week of December. So, basically, they will not be able to look at my car before the end of the tranny’s 100k warranty! That is just unacceptable. I decided to call Columbia Ford because they were great when we took our motorhome there for service. When I told the person on the phone that I wanted my tranny looked at because it’s bucking, lagging, etc., she responded, “When do you want to bring it in?” You mean, you can look at it, like, this week maybe? “Sure, which day do you want to bring it in?” I dropped my car off two days later. Get this, too: I would have dropped off my car at Hoffman when they opened in the morning, and I would have heard nothing all day, I would have called them around 3pm and they would have said they just brought my car into the bay, and they would have at least had my car overnight, if not longer. I think Joe from Columbia called me an hour after I returned home that morning to tell me the clutches DID need to be replaced, and also my back brakes were almost gone and my coolant was discolored. Since we’ll be towing the car and traveling for a few months, he suggested replacing the plugs as that will be due at the 100k mark, and we should make sure the car is in top shape for the trip. Columbia replaced my clutches, changed out the plugs, changed the coolant and did the rear brakes AND THEY HAD THE CAR READY BY THE END OF THE DAY!!!! My husband and I were both shocked and VERY impressed. Columbia Ford has won our business, I just wish I had known how good they were years ago! More
