We had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Schaumburg Toyota. After spending the entire day visiting dealerships, we finally found what we thought was the perfect used vehicle he experience at Schaumburg Toyota. After test driving the car and confirming with the salesperson that it was still available, we left the lot to finalize our decision. Just before closing — literally 7 minutes before — we called to place a deposit. At that time, the car was still listed as available in their system. According to the dealership’s own stated policy, a vehicle is not sold until a deposit is placed or paperwork is signed. We gave our payment information and were told everything was good. Then, 30 minutes later, we received a call from the general manager claiming the car had been sold earlier in the day. This made absolutely no sense, since we had just test driven it and had been assured it was available. The GM offered no apology, no explanation — just a cold, dismissive tone. It was painfully clear that our deposit was overridden because the manager had a better offer and chose to prioritize that, regardless of the promises made to us. This dealership claims to operate by clear standards, but our experience shows otherwise. We feel completely misled and taken advantage of. It’s incredibly disheartening to be treated this way when we were in a vulnerable position, relying on the integrity of the staff. This wasn’t just a miscommunication — it was a dishonest and greedy decision at our expense. We will not be returning, and we strongly encourage others to be cautious when dealing with this location. If they don’t stand by their own policies, what else won’t they stand by? More

Worst experience ever I bought used BMW X5 from Schaumburg Toyota on June 22, 2019. I paid full amount and no financing. The dealership didn't do any inspection on the vehi I bought used BMW X5 from Schaumburg Toyota on June 22, 2019. I paid full amount and no financing. The dealership didn't do any inspection on the vehicle before giving it to me. As per FTC, dealership is required to give buyer's guide also. I reported oil leak and various other issues within 2 hours of purchase. They said as per Illinois Law, I have 15 days to report issues on used car so take vehicle back and give them consolidated list of issues. After 8 days, I submitted picture of engine light, gasket issue, compressor issue and various others. They took my BMW X5 and told me that their service staff hourly rate is high so instead of fixing it at their service center, they sent it to JC's auto care in Schaumburg. JC's auto care kept it for 2 months and within those 2 months, JC's reported to me that my BMW X5 is dead. It cannot even get started anymore. I reported to Schaumburg Toyoya and later I got a call from Mr. Joe Shoemaker ( General manager or Sales ) on July 24, 2019 and he acknowledged that BMW X5 is not working at all. He said we can trade-in that vehicle for you and get you a new vehicle from our inventory or fix this vehicle. I told him that it makes no sense to do patch work on it because it will be reported on CARFAX and the vehicle value will go down 70% within a month of purchase. I went to Schaumburg Toyota. The used car manager was on different page. He said if we trade in your vehicle, we will not give you full money. You will lose money on your vehicle considering it's current condition. I told him that condition is because of you and not me. After I showed him Attorney general's web page on used car and spoke to Secretary of State police in front of him, he said he will talk to General manager and get back to me. After 3 weeks, I got a call that BMW X5 is ready for pick up. I told them who told you to fix it. It has to be replaced with a different vehicle. They said it was decided by general manager. I picked my BMW X5 and right outside Schaumburg Toyota service center, it was making loud noise and oil leak. I immediately reported to Mr. Chris who is general manager. He said we spent enough on this vehicle now it is your problem. After argument he said take it to JC's they should fix it. I told him that you guys have to take it not me. He said nothing he will do about it. I have to take it to JC's only. I had a fracture and I was going from Schaumburg Toyota and JC's auto care. After I went to JC's they told me that sorry we are not capable of fixing BMW issues. It would be better if BMW service center looks at it. BMW dealership quoted $18,000 to fix it. I informed sales person named James from whom I bought this vehicle and he just walked away. I paid full cash for this BMW X5. After 4 months, I didn't receive title so I reported to them. Their finance department screwed title also. The title had lien on Schaumburg Toyota instead of me even though there was no financing. I tried to trade in my BMW X5 at Patrick BMW Schaumbug and bought new BMW X3. The patrick BMW gave me inspection report before I can take vehicle. They told me that their BMW X3 has minor oil leak so I should get a different vehicle. This was expected from Schaumbug Toyota too. I cannot trade in my BMW X5 to Patrick BMW as Schaumburg Toyota has still not given my vehicle title. Mr. Robert said he will dispatch it within a week. The trade-in value will be 90% less than the price I paid to Schaumburg Toyota even though I have hardly driven this vehicle. Summary: Neither sales person, finance department or manager handled the situation properly. I am now going to lose all money within 4 months out of which 2 months the vehicle was at JC's auto care, Schaumburg, IL. Only Mr. Joe Shoemaker was somewhat helpful so I have given one star. More

Don’t waste your time I first contacted this dealership because they had the color of 4Runner I liked with the options I wanted. I was willing to be patient because I had been having difficulty with finding what I wanted. I should have walked away that night but didn’t. David quite honestly is the worst car salesman I’ve ever dealt. I knew more about his inventory and the product than he did. At one point, he left me at his desk to go the main desk to ask a question and was gone for 45 minutes. No explanation. After i stood and made eye contact with him standing at the desk conversing with others, he came back and told me the internet was down. Eventually he had his sales manager come over and we were able to workout deal. I made a deposit for the vehicle for when it arrived and left. Over the course of the next three weeks, the arrival of the vehicle was pushed back on 3 different occasions. During that time, I had to be the one tracking down David to get this information. Several messages left on multiple occasions before I’d get a response. I just felt like I was not valued as a customer. Finally on the last notice that the arrival of the vehicle being delayed yet again, I decided to check around and located another 4Runner at another dealer. I called and cancelled my deposit. If I had been better informed and David would have seemed to have cared, I’d likely not looked for a different dealer. I was willing to be patient. My concern was is if this is how I was treated during a sale, then how would I be treated after if I had any issues. I didn’t save money changing dealers. Joe was a good sales manger and I think we worked a good deal. The other dealer was able to match it but I felt more confident in them. More

I was hit from behind in our Toyota Sienna and it did quite a bit of damage especially near the backup camera. The estimate that came in for the repair from the other persons Insurance company seemed low. We consulted you & took your advice to see Certified Collision in Schaumburg for comparison. Certified alerted me to the fact that the damaged parts may be & often are replaced with cheaper parts. The information was most helpful in making our decision to take our car to Certified Collision. Not only are we happy with the repair outcome but I have confidence in the fact that we have retained the value of our car. Joe, your accessibility to your customers is super nice!
