I've bought a lot of cars over the years and dealt with plenty of dealers, but I have never had an experience as bad as at ALM. Without writing 5 pages of issues, I will quickly highlight the good and the plenty of dealers, but I have never had an experience as bad as at ALM. Without writing 5 pages of issues, I will quickly highlight the good and the bad. On the positive, the salesman was OK, the vehicle was clean and damage-free, and the finance person was apologetic for how management acted and treated me. The bad starts with being there for 6 hours for a simple transaction. I had a very quick test drive and even a very quick negotiation on the sale price of the new vehicle and the trade-in of my car. The first issue arose with the sale price of the vehicle; they tried to immediately bait-and-switch pricing (luckily, I had a screenshot of the price they advertised on Autotrader), which they eventually honored. So the deal was signed and I waited 45 minutes to see the finance person. I get in to see her and she immediately starts with the "you need to cover the electronics of your vehicle with a warranty" for only $10 a month. Well, at $10, I'm ok with that, and we start to look at the sale paperwork. 1-they have the wrong price for my trade 2--they have added $6-7000 in fees 3--I have no idea where all these items came from and how the numbers jumped up so high. Thus, I say Im not signing and we need to go through these item by item so I know what Im paying for. Without consulting me, asking, or even mentioning, they do a paint/fabric warranty for 2k. Next, I find that they have a club ALM they enrolled me in without my knowledge for another 2k, and finally that electronics warranty that was $10 a month was like 3k. So, after going through this multiple times and trying to get this all removed from the sales contract, I was there forever. Moreover, the sales floor manager was called in like 3-4 times to authorize adjustments and try to keep the extra charges. He was very rude and literally slammed down his pen on the desk and said he was done with me. I said Fine, I'm happy to leave. Give me my title, and I'm gone. While I waited with the finance woman who was apologizing profusely, the sales manager okayed the sale without all the scam charges. Went back, did new sales papers, and drove off their lot, never ever to return, and will tell anyone I know the same. Also, for the paint protection, the floor manager lied and said they put it on when it was delivered (lie), it is a paste was they throw on after the car is washed and even though they gave me it at their cost (another lie-$835) and its really like $5o, I just didnt have it in me to fight with them anymore or be at the dealership past 10pm (although I should have). Sold me a pre-owned vehicle that had an issue which would not qualify it to be certified. Kia wont cover it. ALM through multiple people told m they would take care of it and then promptly ghosted me. would not qualify it to be certified. Kia wont cover it.
