Hampstead Pre-Owned is not transparent nor honest. We went there because we did have a very good experience 5 years ago. My review is similar to October 26, 2025 review that is posted on here. So please read all of the negative reviews before wasting your time as we had some of the same experiences that I am now reading. The other reviewers seem to have similar issues and dishonesty as well from the certified check for our own financing to them trying to force people in various ways to run your credit to finance with them. For our situation, they knew we were bringing a check from our Bank as they even spoke to the Bank mid day because they had to correct their invoice for the car (originally written incorrect). Similar to what the reviewer stated on October 26, 2025 we were also told two different stories and negative feedback on our bank after driving an hour and then sitting there for nearly two hours. First, we were told that APLFCU stopped working with Hampstead Pre Owned. Then I was told that APLFCU was not good for the money and have bounced checks with them. We brought our own 3.9 financing and they continued to want us to finance through them or at least have a back up financing process. There words were "so that we have back up financing, if the certified cashiers check bounces." They were also not transparent in all of their fees the first time we looked at the car. Originally they say that the HPCO Certification is done for all of our customers when it is not you actually pay for it. We only returned from our original discussions on the vehicle because "they called us" and removed all of the unnecessary fees (10% for using your own financing and the HPCO certification charge, delivery fee since the car came from Westminster Toyota and not out of state). The locations where the car has been is located on CARFAX report if you are not aware. After wasting our time sitting there with our own financing, that they were well aware of, they unsuccessfully tried pushing us to allow them run the purchase through their financing to have back up because they believe the CERTIFIED CASHIERS check would bounce. As a family this is extremely insulting. Raquel tried to jump in the conversation and give the worst analogy of would I accept a person check from her. Of course, no. Then she continued to insult me and speak to me as if I was uneducated. All in front of the Customer Service Manager that I was speaking to outside. Raquel was extremely rude and then walked away while making nasty comments. The Customer Service Manager did nothing except ask me to leave the check and come back in a few days to pick up the car once they have officially cashed the check. There are too many dealerships around with lots of inventory to play games, insult and be disrespectful to customers. I did not read the reviews online as I previously 5 years ago had a good experience. The bad reviews on here are real so believe them. More

Please read all the ONE star reviews before you go to the dealership. They are very deceptive and are not transparent. should you see a car that you can not live without then make sure you READ EVERY LINE of dealership. This dealership could see my frustration after being shut down from so many others. Soon as I walked in the door I stated that I didn’t want to sit and if the deal couldn’t be done for the exact car we came down from so many others. Kiran and another lady made sure my daughter left with the car she came for. All the other dealers wanted 5k plus down and this one didn’t ask for half of that. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience buying a used vehicle from Hampstead Pre-Owned. I saw the vehicle I was interested in on Cars.com, and upon inquiring about it, was quickly contacte buying a used vehicle from Hampstead Pre-Owned. I saw the vehicle I was interested in on Cars.com, and upon inquiring about it, was quickly contacted by Heather in Internet Sales with confirmation of an appointment to come see it. We showed up and was greeted by Kiran who is the Customer Service Concierge. His job is to be sure that every customer has a great experience buying from this dealership. He introduced us to Alan Taylor in Sales who took us to the vehicle we came to see. It was clean and exactly what we wanted, so after a test drive, we went in to take care of the paperwork. Thomas in financing assisted us in finalizing everything. When we got home, I realized that a part was missing from the tire jack kit. Kiran called to check on our satisfaction and when I mentioned about the part to him, he had Jonathan from the Service Department contact me. He found a replacement and I was able to pick it up the next day. Everything about the experience of dealing with Hampstead Pre-Owned was above my expectations. I have been to other dealerships recently and the experience here was the best! My wife who came along was very impressed with everyone as well! We would definitely return to purchase other vehicles. AI tools can help detect fake reviews, so be sure to check before making a decision. Unfortunately, my experience with Hampstead Pre-Owned was far from positive. I went in for a well-priced 2023 Dodge Durango and was invited for a same-day test drive. However, the experience quickly raised red flags. 🚗 Test Drive Issues & Hidden Damage • The vehicle had no gas, limiting the test drive to just a mile—nowhere near enough to assess its performance, especially at highway speeds. • During my exterior inspection, I noticed a cracked front bumper—something that wasn’t disclosed in their inspection report. • The dealership assured me they would fix it, but this should have been disclosed upfront. 💰 Unethical Pricing & Trade-In Tactics • My 2021 Toyota RAV4 was grossly undervalued despite having a verified trade-in quote from KBB. • When I was ready to leave, the owner, Anthony, quickly increased his offer multiple times, proving the original offer wasn’t fair. • This kind of pricing game raises serious concerns about their transparency. 📑 Financing Red Flags • After agreeing on a trade-in, the financing employee was suddenly removed, and the sales manager took over—something the finance employee said had never happened before. • The first contract I was given contained major discrepancies: o A $9,000 markup on the total price. o An extended warranty quoted at $12/month that was actually $60/month in the final contract. • When I caught these errors, they brushed it off as an "honest mistake" and claimed they would have corrected it later. That’s not how contracts work. ⚠️ Pushy Sales Tactics & Hidden Fees • The sales team pushed the extended warranty aggressively, refusing to take "no" for an answer. After seeing other reviews, I now understand why—they likely know their cars aren’t reliable. • A $1,295 HPO certification fee was charged, supposedly for brakes, oil, wipers, tires, and detailing—yet none of these services were actually performed. • A $799 dealer processing fee was added on top of the tag/title fee, yet my tag transfer wasn’t even completed properly. 🛠️ Poor Repairs & Lack of Accountability • When my bumper was finally replaced, I was given a loaner for three days. Upon picking up my car, multiple warning lights were on—something the dealership saw but chose to ignore. • After waiting two hours, the issue was traced to unplugged bumper sensors—a basic mistake that should never happen at a professional shop. ❌ Final Verdict After everything I experienced, I cannot recommend Hampstead Pre-Owned. The hidden fees, shady financing practices, and lack of quality control make this dealership one to avoid. If you’re considering buying from them, be extremely cautious and double-check everything before signing. Attached are photos of the warning lights and proof of the unperformed HPO items.
