Leon was wrong, (he kept to his story that the Jeep would arrive any day) the Jeep never shipped and I was without any car. Leon’s manager agreed to refund my deposit and let me out of the contract. We chose to go to Criswell Chrysler Jeep because of the reviews for Leon Travis. Leon did not disappoint! Our jeep arrived in record time and he went over all aspects of the Rubicon in great detail. We drove almost an hour to make this purchase and it was well worth our time! The entire process with Criswell was problematic.- A The entire process with Criswell was problematic. - A purchase price reduction was offered based on in-house financing. When ordering the vehicle The entire process with Criswell was problematic. - A purchase price reduction was offered based on in-house financing. When ordering the vehicle I was told I would have the option of using Bank of America as they were a preferred lender. When the financing application was completed, I was only offered one financing option (Wells Fargo) and the rate was 2x that of Bank of America. When I asked for them to present an offer from Bank of America they told me I only had one option and to take it or leave it. This resulted in a purchase price that was more expensive than originally quoted. - Financing paperwork was delayed multiple times. Paperwork was missing the first time it was mailed out. Paperwork was not completed until 17 days after the vehicle arrived at the dealership. - Purchase information documentation (FAC affiliate letter, drivers license, proof of insurance, etc). had to be provided to Leon Travis three separate times. - During the entire process the sales representative (Leon Travis) was less than professional. I had to follow-up multiple times for order updates to which I was simply told to be patient. I was originally offered an estimated shipment date and when I inquired about this shipment date I was told there was no date and he would inform me once the vehicle arrived. On multiple occasions he sent me personal text messages intended for someone else on accident. - Criswell offered their support in shipping the vehicle. They quoted an amount significantly over market rates. I eventually ended up shipping using a carrier of my choice which was 40% cheaper than the Criswell quote. - The vehicle arrived scratched and damaged in multiple locations. I had the vehicle inspected by multiple third-parties that confirmed the clear coat damage was a result of improper detailing/vehicle prep. When attempting to resolve the issues with multiple individuals at Criswell (Leon Travis, Kevin Glassic), I was told it was not their issue and no attempt was made in supporting me resolving the problems. - Via email, Leon Travis informed me that they would not add any decals, tag brackets, etc. to the vehicle. When the vehicle arrived it had both. The application of the Criswell decal on the rear of the vehicle caused scratches to the clear coat. - The vehicle arrived missing the grab handles which were ordered with the vehicle, paid for, and indicated on the window sticker. When I asked Leon Travis about them he told me they were definitely included, but it was "my word against his", insinuating that I was lying. He committed multiple times to sending them, yet over a week later they have not been sent. - The vehicle arrived with a defective center instrument panel. There was a large piece of trash inside the display that should have been noticed at vehicle prep. When Criswell was informed of the issue, all conversations were ignored. I still have no resolution. I recently picked up my first Wrangler (2021 Unlimited Sport S). Wanted to share my experience in case it would be interesting to others. TL;DR - If you are within driving distance of Gaithersburg, Sport S). Wanted to share my experience in case it would be interesting to others. TL;DR - If you are within driving distance of Gaithersburg, MD, I'd highly recommend Leon Travis @ Criswell. No games, just a good deal and supportive salesman. Now for the longer version... After educating myself for a few weeks and failing to find a low mileage Jeep with the options that I wanted (both safety packages), I decided to order a vehicle to my specs. I had not had good experiences with the couple local (central MD) dealerships who I had dealt with in my search, so I turned to these forums. I emailed Leon Travis @ Criswell with a simple proposal. If he can get me the Jeep I wanted (I listed the config) for the price I believe is reasonable then he'd have my business. Leon didn't give me the run around by suggesting poorly matched vehicles on the lot, declining the discounts and/or suggesting that I come into the dealership to discuss. Leon, just said "sure, let me draw up and draft order". A couple emails later and a $1000 deposit, my order was placed. FYI, FCA did insist that I order the Technology Group and painted wheels. I joked with my wife "It was almost as easy as ordering a pizza". I had joined the Access Fund (non-profit rock climbing org) to qualify for the 1% FCA Affiliate Discount and began patiently waiting. Leon set my expectations on how the process would process and at what milestone he would communicate with me. Specifically, I got an email at each of the following points in the process: Jeep order has been placed, Jeep order receipt, Jeep VIN Assigned, Jeep Estimated Ship Date, Jeep has shipped, Jeep has arrived. In addition, Leon responded to text messages throughout the process, usually within minutes. Initially the process moved quickly. Within 4 days, I had a projected ship date of just 8 days after my order. It ended taking 15 days (not 8) after ordering to ship, then another week to make it to the dealership and be ready for pickup. In total it was only 3 weeks and 2 days from order to pickup. When I picked up the Jeep, Criswell threw in a full tank of gas (not the FCA standard 4 gal) and a set of wheel locks (helps dealer avoid wheel theft before sale). I did a test drive and full inspection before signing anything. The financial part of the sale was exactly as expected with the sales price exactly matching the order sheet that Leon had emailed me after our first interaction. I don't buy new cars very often and don't drop ~$40k without some angst. These forums and Leon made the process super smooth. I'm happy to pay it forward by answering any question y'all might have. Leon listened and ensured my husband walked out with what he wanted and he did just that! He spoke with my husband prior to us arriving and when we got there he was no it!
