Van Bortel For Shopping for a vehicle is normally a nightmare. Most dealerships that I’ve been to were a complete struggle to make a fair deal happen. Van Bortel Ford was a breath of fresh air. Matt German’s sales approach was perfect. He was down to earth, easy going, very accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. Matt didn’t try to play the typical games of hiding numbers; he told me straight up this is what the dealership can do and this is how much the dealership is making off of this deal. At the end of the day, Matt and his manager were able to meet me with a deal that was fair and I couldn’t be happier. If they continue to run their business this way, I wouldn’t bother going any where else for a car. Shopping at Van Bortel was very low stress; I would highly recommend this dealership. More

Van Bortel Ford – One-of-a-Kind Dealer! After much deliberation, research and comparison shopping, we decided to purchase a 2016 Ford Edge. To estimate its cost, we used Ford’s online “Buil After much deliberation, research and comparison shopping, we decided to purchase a 2016 Ford Edge. To estimate its cost, we used Ford’s online “Build and Configure” tool. Within 21 minutes, we received an email from Matt German, a personable and knowledgeable sales rep at Van Bortel Ford in East Rochester. Matt’s email provided Van Bortel’s selling price for the Edge we had just configured, including current rebates! A few minutes later, he called to personally introduce himself and explain Van Bortel’s pricing and sales policies. We set up an appointment and met Matt, who was armed with answers to every question we posed. After another test drive, we decided to order the Edge. Matt competed the necessary paperwork, and introduced us to Brandon Wood, who explained Ford’s extended warranty and other optional add-on packages. Our new Edge arrived within the original delivery window and we went back to Van Bortel to pick it up. This time, Matt introduced us to Mark Hawkins, a virtual walking encyclopedia of Ford’s latest technology. Mark spent an hour explaining all of the new gadgets and even answered our questions regarding our 2014 Ford Fusion! Finally, Matt introduced us to Bryan Zemaitis, who carefully explained all of the important points in our Ford Credit contract. We have purchased 10 new cars over the past four decades and have never found the experience to be as enjoyable as it was at Van Bortel Ford. Matt, Mark, Brandon, Bryan and the others we met there were friendly, professional and never too busy to answer questions and make us feel like family. Very low pressure and he worked vary hard to get us exactly what we wanted and worked just as hard to get the vehicle at a price we wanted to pay. Claxton spent a lot of time with us and really cared about what we wanted at a price we wanted. We wound up ordering a vehicle with the options we wanted on it. Our experience was great. At the time of delivery, Matt German spent almost 2 hours with us going over all the features of the vehicle, which were many, and setting up all of the technical / sync options. I haven't had a dealer pay this much attention to detail in a long time. (I have purchased many vehicles over the years) They also treated us very fairly on our trade vehicle. More

Unlike my past dealings with car salesmen, man was zero pressure, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and very eager to answer all my questions. His willingness to promptly return phone calls and e-mails really demonstrated his desire to work with me and ensure my questions and concerns were addressed. I feel Matt was very instrumental in my deciding to purchase the vehicle from Van Bortel Ford. Matt was also very fair with me concerning the trade-in of my 2006 F-150 as well as locating additional discounts I was entitled to with Ford. I very much like the arrangement that Van Bortel has with Ziebart as I would have done that anyway without their assistance but it was so much easier and cheaper using Van Bortel as my liason with Ziebart.. Matt was instrumental in my going with the additional extended warranty plan as he was fully capable of explaining the plans benefits. Brandon Wood was also a very valuable resource in displaying the various plan options and associated pricing to me and fielding any questions I had. In conclusion, I am 200% satisfied with my car buying experience with Van Bortel due in large to the interfaces I had with Matt and Brandon. Not to mention I got a great new vehicle!!
