Ben, First off I’m sorry for your frustrations with some of our policies and a few of my employees. Let me apologize for whomever gave you the wrong information of the General Manager. I am the General Manager, not William Liang. I’m sorry you did not hear back from William through Linkedin. I’m sure Linkedin is not something he is usually active with. From what I understand is that you visited our store after talking to us about the TRD Sport Tacoma. For whatever reasons, you did not choose to leave a deposit and complete a purchase order with Ian when you were here but you left very happy with our offer. Matt offered a lower price for you to purchase the car by month-end. When you called back a few days later you wanted to leave a deposit over the phone and pick up the truck the first week of September (6th or 7th). It is our policy at this location to not take deposits over the phone and we must have a signed purchase order to complete an agreement between you and us so we can be very clear as to the terms of the deal. You were given a very aggressive price so we can reduce our inventory of Tacoma’s for August and so that we can earn more for the next allocation of Tacoma models. Each Toyota dealer is a franchise and operated independently. Toyota just manufactures the cars. I’m not sure why you would say all we care about is the profit of the deal when we gave you a lower price then you were able to get at any of the other 112 Toyota dealers in the NY region. When you asked to speak to a Manager to find out why our policy is this way you chose to verbally abuse him and threaten to leave a bad review of the dealer if we would not agree to your terms. I’m sure you can see by our reviews that we make many, many people very satisfied. Your threats would not make us change our policy. We advised you that if the car was available in September you were welcome to complete the transaction. This was not good enough for you so you chose to call up Matt Mongiello and call him names. I will not let any of my employees be subject to schoolyard name-calling by you. If you were able to speak to another human being without verbally abusing them we may have been able to do business with you. I cannot and will not do business with someone who would speak to or treat one of my employees like that. We will not be able to do any business together as it stands now.
