I am so disappointed with my recent visit to Lansing Lafontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership. We took the day off from our busy work schedules, traveled an hour and a half from home, only to have Lafontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership. We took the day off from our busy work schedules, traveled an hour and a half from home, only to have such a negative experience. My son and I met with Mia Nelson for a 1 p.m. appointment. We had been communicating with her by email and text and eventually agreed upon an out the door deal to purchase a 2025 Yukon Denali. We came prepared with pre approved financing and a $10,000 deposit towards the purchase. Soon after we arrived, we took the Yukon for a test drive and agreed we were prepared to close out the deal. The issues began when the General Sales Manager, Dultin Davies, came to discuss other possible financing options. When I counter offered about beating our current rate and how this would benefit us, Dultin stated " It really doesn't matter to me if you finance with us or not, I could care less, I just want to try and save you a few hundred dollars." He spoke in such a dismissive way, I quickly turned his offer down. I brushed him off as I assumed I was done dealing with him. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When we were out doing the test drive, I noticed that there was very little gas in the truck. I asked Mia if they could fill the tank up as a courtesy. She said they only filled up new vehicles. I asked her if she could find out if they could fill it up for us as we would have to drive over an hour back home. Once again, Dultin came back and once again he came back with a "I could care less" attitude. After going back and forth with him, with no being his answer and him getting up and leaving us to "decide" what we wanted to do, we decide to just walk out and leave. I guess Dultin didn't care if his salesperson and the dealership lost out on over $70,000 in sales all because he wasn't willing to work with his customers and fill a small request. We were down the road when Mia called to ask where did we go. I explained to her how Dultin was rude and unwilling to work with us so we just decided to walk away and were heading to our next dealership in Sterling Heights. Mia apologized and offered to fill the tank up herself. I told her no, that I didn't want her to do that, as it was not right nor fair to her. She said she would talk to a different manager and get things straightened out if we would just come back. It was my son who agreed and convinced me not to take it out on Mia just because the General Sales Manager was rude. Dultin could learn from his staff. Is this the way you treat your customers? Maybe he needs to be training again. Maybe he was just having an off day, but whatever it was, it ruined our whole experience with ever buying another car with this dealership. I would not recommend Lafontaine to any of my hard working friends, family or coworkers when they ask where I purchased my truck from. I didn't even get a second spare FOB to the truck. If figured it was pointless to ask and I was over everything and just wanted to leave. I already knew dealing with Dultin was a lost cause. Rita Medel Jason Medel More

I don't like knocking anybody, but I did not have a great experience here. I was traveling from out of town shopping for a vehicle for my wife. I contacted LaFontaine about a vehicle they advertised for sa experience here. I was traveling from out of town shopping for a vehicle for my wife. I contacted LaFontaine about a vehicle they advertised for sale. It was the correct, year, color and price I wanted. I was told the vehicle had just been sent to another store, but they had others they could show me. I provide my price range, color, make and model requirements. They said they could help and had a car transferred from Grand Ledge for me to look at. I spent an extra night in town (hotel) to see the car. Things went well upon arrival. The salesclerk and the manager greeted me. We chatted while waiting for the car to arrive. Mia showed me the paperwork on the car. It was $1000 more than my budget. I asked if that was going to be a problem. She said no and had the sale documents printed up. It was $1000 more than I said I could spend. I asked if she was planning to adjust the price. She said no. I got up to leave. She knew my budget and misled me to believe she had a car I could afford. I spent an extra night at the hotel and incurred meal expenses just so I could see this car. I was upset. The manger stepped in and offered to call their LaFontaine store in Grand Ledge to see if they could work with me on the price. I said I would not wait to see the car unless they could agree on the price. They did. So I waited. And waited. At one point, I walked to my car to wait. The manager tried to show me an alternate vehicle. Unfortunately, it was white; the one color my wife did NOT want. Finally, the car showed up. It was perfect. The manger made sure to find carpet for the trunk. He also agreed to address a retractable door that wasn't working on the front console storage unit. I agree to buy the car and we proceeded with paperwork. Everything was signed and again, I waited and waited. By that time, Mia had disappeared. I had no idea what was going on and had to ask other agents what the delay was. Apparently I was in line to visit with their accountant to finalize the deal. They were so backed up that I was allowed to leave for dinner and return. I met a very nice person in accounting who completed the sale. They also try to sell extended warranty during this time. They use fairly strong hard sell tactics, including dropping their original price for the insurance when you say no. They get you to say no about three times before they give up. Once that was done, I discovered that there was only one key for the car. I don't know if you've priced keys lately, but they're over $300 to get one programmed and cut for your vehicle. And finally, when I picked up the car, the gas tank was empty. It had less than 2 gallons in it. I had just purchased a used 2022 Ford Expedition (from somewhere else) the week prior. It was delivered with a FULL tank of gas. I'm sure that Mia and her manager were not happy with me, but I wasn't happy with them at the time either. I had just spent 3 days on the road looking at cars. I'm glad they had what I wanted. I'm glad we were able to agree upon the price and complete the sale, but it was not a pleasant experience. More
