As I approach retirement, I am currently in the market for a new car. I've always driven beaters until the wheels fall off since obtaining my driver's license in 1980. As a civil servant for the past 40 years, most recently as a substitute teacher in Noblesville schools, I'm finally going to buy new as a gift to myself. Lately, I've visited several dealerships in the Indianapolis metro area, and Ed Martin Toyota in Noblesville, IN certainly is at the top of my list for dealerships visited. Specifically, I was introduced to Michael Ball in February 2024 through my interest in the Toyota Camry (my mom owned an '02 and drove it for 22 years where it was still in excellent condition when we sold it in 2023). Michael and I test drove a 4 cyl. in February since there were no V-6s on the lot at that time. At that time, he researched his delivery schedule and informed me that in mid March new V-6s would be available on the lot. According to plan, on 3/16, I was able to test drive an XSE V6 that drove as nicely as a recently driven new C300 Mercedes at almost $20K less. One of the best (and there are many) attributes of Michael is that he never once was overbearing or demanding for a commitment from me as far as a purchase date. I explained to him that I'm going to exhaust all options and all dealers in the area before making a decision, and he completely understood my intentions.
