On July 2nd, 2021, I posted a review which I was asked to take down as a prerequisite to having the issues fixed with the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited 3.2L I purchased on May 4th, 2021. The dealership had take down as a prerequisite to having the issues fixed with the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited 3.2L I purchased on May 4th, 2021. The dealership had originally delivered the vehicle to me with defective CV axles and low on oil, which resulted in top end damage after driving for a few days, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy-x85J3vlc After going back and forth I was able to get the engine issue taken care of, but other issues remain with the vehicle I purchased. I am experiencing severe hesitation when driving the vehicle at highway speeds. Throttle response takes anywhere from 4-5 seconds and occasionally the Jeep goes into "limp home mode" when attempting to pass or perform evasive maneuvers. This is dangerous, and could lead to a fatal collision. My wife will no longer drive the vehicle due to the hesitation and I am forced to drive with extreme caution. Not exactly the stress-free experience you want from purchasing a "like new" vehicle with 53,000 miles. Due to this issue I was almost taken out by a semi-tractor/trailer truck going way too fast down the Peace River bridge shortly after purchase. I was in the right lane and no gaps to move over, when I saw the truck closing the gap behind me I floored it and the Jeep took over 4 seconds to respond. That truck was almost touching my rear bumper when the Jeep finally moved. After this I parked the vehicle and did not drive it for almost 2 weeks while waiting on the dealership to agree to service it. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR TRANSMISSION / SOFTWARE UPDATES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE THIS VEHICLE EVER SAW THE LOT!! When you pull out in front of someone you expect to be able to accelerate. Sitting in fast moving traffic with no acceleration is not exactly a fun experience. I was also told the CV axles were replaced but with the continuing popping/clicking I do not believe this is the case. The vehicle did accelerate and drive properly for approximately 2 weeks after the transmission was updated and serviced. It is now back to acting the way it was. In my most recent interaction with the dealership yesterday, they do not believe there is an issue and "every 3.2L Jeep Cherokee drives like this" according to Mike and the service manager. I was instructed to trade the Jeep in for something else if I did not like it. I do not feel this is a valid option as I would lose thousands of dollars trading it in... I will continue to aggressively pursue a solution until this is resolved. Until then I have no choice but to continue driving the vehicle, until I'm able to get my hands on something else and park it. Not the experience I was hoping for, ended up stuck with a defective nightmare. Be very careful with the used vehicles here. I should have had it inspected by an outside entity but stupidly put too much faith in the dealership and screwed myself. An expensive lesson to learn but a lesson nonetheless. More
