Up and down experience. Came in late Friday evening to look at a Hyundai Kona. Have never owned or shopped Hyundai before. Really liked it and Salesman and Manager worked out a deal with me. I had a plea look at a Hyundai Kona. Have never owned or shopped Hyundai before. Really liked it and Salesman and Manager worked out a deal with me. I had a pleasant experience with them. Since I obtained my own financing, I had to wait until Monday to to get all documents necessary to make purchase. I was handed off to a 2nd salesman and he contacted Monday morning early. Communication became poor and dismissive. Got all necessary paperwork and checks ready by noon Monday. Tried calling to set up a time to pick up vehicle. Called 4 times over 1 hour period. Didn’t pick up so left a message. No call, no update for rest of day. Next morning I called original salesman. He said he would take care of it. Dismissive salesman calls back, “I heard you weren’t happy because of back and forth between us and your bank.” I said,”no, i don’t know where you heard that. I’m unhappy that you stopped communicating with me. I was trying to buy the car and now I don’t have time to pick up the car any longer because of work.” He gave a non-apology apology and said he’s busy doing back-to-back-to-back-to-back sales and that he worked until 8:30 last night. Did not even take a break. There’s nothing he can do to make me happier. If I would’ve financed through Hyundai, it would’ve been faster. I I have bought enough vehicles to know it doesn’t matter who finances. A quick 2 minute call would’ve been nice. He’s now trying to schedule a time for me to pick up the car, but I reminded him that it’s not gonna work. I actually had to suggest they drop off the car. He never even tried that. I’m now doing his job for him. Ok, he’s got two sales to complete then i’m the third. i ask for him to update me because i don’t want to sit around waiting for an update again. I never hear from him again that day. In fact, I never hear from him again in this process. It wasn’t until a third day that someone else called to set up a time for a drop off. I must have really wanted them to have my money. Because I cancelled a different showing at another dealer when they called and ended up buying this car. There’s more; no one ever offered me the discount gas card either. I am now reaching out to dealership to ask how I can get it. We’ll see how that goes. Oh there’s more; 2 days after taking possession of the car, the malfunction light came on. I had to drop car off for them to check, but I was told I might have to pay for diagnostic fee. What?! in the end, the light was turned off because it was a ‘historical’ code. Service guy was pleasant enough and took time to explain things. i didn’t have to pay because of warranty. hmmmmm .. I guess. More
