I'm a local guy. I grew up in West Chester and live here still. After graduating from Penn State, I stumbled into the car business. I was really open to any type of job, and I saw that Otto's BMW was hiring. I knew from growing up in the area that Otto's was a well respected local business, so I applied and was hired. After working for BMW for three and a half years, Otto's offered me the opportunity to sell MINIs, which I accepted. I love the whole mindset behind the brand... a premium car that still leaves a lot of room for fun. I've owned a 2014 Cooper 2 Door, a 2014 Countryman, 2017 Clubman, 2019 Clubman, and I'm currently driving a 2023 Cooper S 2 Door. I really pride myself in being friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. In my mind, the old school days of car selling are over. I strive to make it a fun and engaging experience, which is what I would want if I were buying a car myself.

I am posting this review with true disappointment. I recently purchased a vehicle at MINI of WC, a 2027 that was ordered. It’s the third MINI I purchased from WC/Otto’s. I always had a positive experi I recently purchased a vehicle at MINI of WC, a 2027 that was ordered. It’s the third MINI I purchased from WC/Otto’s. I always had a positive experience until now. It started with being pressured into purchasing RECOVR anti-theft from the salesperson Pete Barcus, which we did not fall for, in an EV. Doing research this is redundant and the fact that I declined it, yet they came back again, even offering to pay $500 towards it, was very surprising. That’s when I started looking into it. It’s something they push for to make a bonus or something like it. Pick up time comes, Pete begins emailing that the car is almost here so let’s get all of these things rolling. I do my part. The week the car is on the truck, I begin receiving a play by play via email. He tells us that the car is close and “should” be there by Sat, “if” it is it’ll be ready for a Saturday pickup. He even ended his email with “Home Stretch!” So that weekend was Father’s Day. Thinking that Pete knows more and “should” I trusted he was probably right and we would be good for Sat. So we purposely did not have our in-laws stay from out of town for Father’s Day since buying a car takes a lot of time. Well, Sat rolls around and there’s no car. Just emails from Pete, as soon as it arrives I’ll let you know. Long story short we did not pick up the car until Monday and Father’s Day was a total mess for our aging parents who we would have preferred to spend our time with rather than riding the rollercoaster of emotions with Pete. Monday comes and now my husband and I both have to take a half day from work to drive 1 hour and 15 min out to the dealership. Pete should have waited until the car arrived and scheduled our pick up. But it appears what he wanted was us on the edge of our seats, ready to pick up that car the minute it arrived so that his numbers look AMAZING. He has lots of trophies and talked about getting free vacations from MINI and IMO that’s off the backs of his customers. During pick up, Pete took us back to the bay where the car was, left to get Jayson in Finance, and literally NEVER CAME BACK. We didn’t see him ever again after that. (He does not deserve the commission on this vehicle, Chad) No apology, nothing. It was awkward and uncomfortable and we are spending a lot of money. From then on, which had to be another 90 minutes or more in a hot bay, Pete was never to be seen again. So we deal with Jayson Kirk, who was nice enough, and asked us what happened (although I suspect he already knew all about it and it was just a ruse). Jayson was very apologetic and understood our situation which made things less stressful in the moment. We sign the papers (all while standing in the hot bay), I write a check for the down payment and when Jayson leaves he says, “I’ll be right back, Darling”. That did it for me. It was the worst car buying experience. But again, no apologies accept from the finance guy. The GM Chad had nothing to offer or say and again Pete literally disappeared because he’s a coward who can’t admit his mistakes. He left a younger guy to show us the vehicle features, and we left knowing almost nothing about this car, which is very different than anything I’ve driven. We’re also finding out slowly, that he told us we had features in the car that we don’t have. I’m putting in a formal complaint to MINIUSA since these are just some of the highlights. We purchased three times from this dealership, and have used Pete in the past and this is how return customers are treated. Please keep that in mind when purchasing your MINI.. More

Just leased my second Mini Cooper S and I can't say enough good things about Peter Barcus. When I settled on what I wanted and sent out a few inquiries, no one at any dealer matched Peter in profession enough good things about Peter Barcus. When I settled on what I wanted and sent out a few inquiries, no one at any dealer matched Peter in professionalism, responsiveness, knowledge and cut-to-the-chase approach. He got right to a terrific offer, answered a lot of questions and made the entire process a seamless pleasure. I am not usually a fan of the car acquisition experience, but this was materially different, and I would recommend going right to Peter if you are in the market for a Mini, which, by the way, is a great little car. I’m going to take a minute to walk you through this scenario. Girl looks for a specific car for months on end knowing she will find it as long as she doesn’t give up. Girl recruits friends to go on t scenario. Girl looks for a specific car for months on end knowing she will find it as long as she doesn’t give up. Girl recruits friends to go on the search to help her. We find the car of her dreams at Mini of Westchester. How exciting is that? It was the best feeling in the world until girl goes to dealership to look at and hopefully purchase the vehicle. Girl lives 2.5 hours away and calls to express interest and give a deposit to hold the vehicle in good faith that she will show to get the vehicle. Now enters Pete Barcus, The sales person too good for this sale. Pete tells girl, we cannot hold the vehicle. Girl asks why and Peter says “because.” Girls calls back to speak to GM and lo and behold, a hold was placed on said vehicle. Girl is excited again, car of her dreams here she comes! The day of, girl gets to dealership. She’s nervous because she’s never bought a car on her own so she asks if I can stay on the phone with her while she’s there. Absolutely! However, what I heard is nothing but a 1990s dealership horror story. Pete couldn’t be bothered to even talk to her on the test drive as he was scrolling on his phone. Girl asks a question about a glitch in the volume knob to which Pete says “oh, just use the volume control on the steering wheel.” I priced it out with my mechanic while on the phone with her, no big deal we can fix it in our own if they won’t even bother to look into it. That’s how bad girl wants this car she is willing to look past the minor issue the sales person wouldn’t even address. After the test drive girl sits to go over numbers but again Pete was just too good to give her a written proposal, so good in fact he felt a verbal proposal with no breakdown on the cost was just as good. Girl makes her offer and Pete said “really, after all that begging and pleading you did for me to hold the car?” Completely dismisses her offer, again, with no breakdown on the cost. Had girl been able to see what all went into the vehicle, she may have felt better about the asking price. Finally Pete and Girl come to a mutual offer and he offers to run credit. Girl and I set up her own financing because they didn’t work with the credit unions she was interested in. Once Pete realizes she has her own financing, he once again becomes TOO GOOD to continue with the deal. Once finance started to get the deal ready to be signed, Pete handed her the keys, told her where to find the car and left her sitting alone in the lobby. The business manager couldn’t care less to speak to her. The business manager couldn’t care less to the point he doesn’t even take the girl into an office, he did all her paperwork out in the lobby, all of her personal information being shared with every one around her. The only time he expressed interest was when he made the assumption that due to her age she must have totaled her vehicle and that’s why she’s going from a ‘22 to a ‘19. Girl wanted an extended service contract as she knew she was buying a used vehicle with higher mileage but when he offered it to her, the business manager used the broken volume knob in his pitch to sell it. Girl does not take his service contract from him as she would prefer to get it from a more local dealership that can at least pretend they care about her business. Once deal is done, girl gives her deposit and did not see the business manager again and without even a single goodbye from Pete. Not asking to be treated like royalty, just a valued customer as anyone would want to be treated. A handshake and a thank you would have sufficed. Girl leaves crying because of the whole experience. Then the dealership waited a week before they sent her documents to the bank for funding. Girls dream car buying experience was ruined as soon as she got on the lot. It is despicable how I heard her being spoken to by the people she placed her trust in for this experience. More
