I visited to check out an older Tundra they had on the lot to get sizing; I’m a tall guy, and haven’t been a fan of the newer Tacoma I purchased a few years back. The power just isn’t there paired with th lot to get sizing; I’m a tall guy, and haven’t been a fan of the newer Tacoma I purchased a few years back. The power just isn’t there paired with the manual transmission and I would’ve loved to see if the V8 and cab size fit my needs. I called in advance, and the lady that took my call failed to let anyone know I was driving from much further south to check out this truck. I wandered the entire lot for about 20 minutes, never saw a soul, and inevitably went inside to seek some assistance. This is the first time I’ve visited a Toyota dealership and not been assisted by a team member quickly. Shortly after entering, I was taken to a desk and told to wait for the next associate. Some time later, a sales associate appeared. Quincy was the gentleman who was eventually assigned to help me, and right out of the gate was rude. I let Quincy know my needs, and that I didn’t plan to make a purchase today. I was simply trying to spend 5 minutes with the truck to see if my legs fit better than my current truck. He then proceeded to tell me passive-aggressively that he was wasting time with me because he wasn’t making any money. It made me feel awful, as I know that these peoples’ livelihoods depend on sales. I was willing to have him help me find a truck that fit my needs, but he never made an effort to help me after the initial impression. He sat me down at his desk and once again complained that “of course they’d give me you, I don’t have bills to pay.” After leaving to see if the keys were available, he then returned a few minutes later and told me he couldn’t find the keys. Whether the truck was being seen or not by a different customer, I felt like a rodent in this building. Obviously Mr. Quincy’s time was more important than mine. Mr. Quincy wasn’t willing to give me the time of day to justify why I visited Corwin over any of the competing dealerships in town, and never offered me an appraisal on my current truck. If Mr. Quincy wasn’t willing to spend his time helping me find my next vehicle, I’m sure he could’ve declined to help me rather than wasting my time and making me feel like a burden. Purchasing a vehicle is one of the largest expenses people will make during their lifetime behind homes. That being said, I will never bring my business back to Corwin. I had always had wonderful experiences before they were purchased by Larry H. Miller, but I’m outraged that my time was wasted at this dealership. This follows a poor experience through service diagnosing the bed of my truck rattling itself completely loose from the mounts. Where I was also told to go elsewhere. More
