I had an appointment for routine service (oil change, tire rotation), and diagnostics for charging issue with the stop/start second battery. I was told when I got to the dealership that I would need to l tire rotation), and diagnostics for charging issue with the stop/start second battery. I was told when I got to the dealership that I would need to leave my Jeep Cherokee at the service center for 24 to 48 hours for a proper diagnosis. I was not informed of this requirement during my call to set up the appointment. I was a service manager at a five star Chrysler dealership for 13 years, the only time we asked customers to leave the vehicle for an extended time was if we needed to recreate an intermittent problem. A check of the charging system, and second stop/start battery should have been an hour diagnosis. We did not ask for a loaner vehicle, as we were not informed that they wanted to keep the vehicle for such an extended time. We told them to not worry about the diagnostics, a to just do it service work, we then informed there was no service work scheduled, the main reason I made the appointment. We were told they could work it in if we could leave the jeep for the day. We had driven across Minneapolis for our appointment, we were not prepared to just leave the vehicle for the day. They finally agreed to do it service while we waited. Over all it was one of the poorest experiences I've encountered at a premium dealership. For a few reasons we will be switching to another dealership closer to our home. This was not the experience I expected from Walser. Very disappointed. More
