First the good: Our salesperson, Randall Bridgeforth, was amazing. He was so patient with us as we shopped for a new car for our family, showed us a couple different options, and helped us find the perf was amazing. Randall has a calm and relaxed demeanor, which is so appreciated during the stressful process of car buying. The dealership itself, Heritage Hyundai, was just okay. One positive is that it had a lot of new cars coming in every week, which was impressive especially during the car and chip shortage, so that’s why we stuck with Heritage. But one of their general managers (Walt) was extremely condescending and rude during one of our exchanges in which we had made an offer on a car, we had to walk out. I just avoided him after that. I found their online inventory to be a bit deceiving, as I would identify a particular model/trim/color from their list of available cars (while sitting in the dealership), but then they would tell me that the car was already pre-sold even though it was showing as available in their computer system. It kinda felt like they were playing games. I just wish their system would show whether a car was pre-sold or already had a deposit on it. When we finally purchased a car, we secured our own financing on our own time (not thru Hyundai), set up a 6:00 appointment on a Tuesday to pick up the car (which they insisted had to be within 24 hours of the dealership receiving the car or else we would lose our deposit), and yet it still took Heritage 3+ hours to complete the paperwork (the part where they try to sell you extended warranties and extra paint/fabric protection, no thanks!). We would have come back another time, but scheduling conflicts, i.e. work, prevented us. That part left a bad taste, as we should have been out of there in under an hour and the management (Walt again) simply had no respect for our time. The car buying process is not fun under normal circumstances, but given the inventory shortage, Heritage Hyundai was the best place to shop. More
