I have never felt so taken advantage of in my life. I came to Rountree Moore Chevrolet with $1000 a valid Capital One Auto Navigator pre-approval. I specifically told the finance team to use Capital One, but they never even submitted my application. Instead, they ran my credit with multiple other banks without my consent, then forced me into a predatory loan with Exeter Finance at 26.79% APR. When they realized I was self-employed, they pressured my 61-year-old mother into co-signing, which I believe is elder exploitation. They also forced us to come up with an extra $2,400 down payment and then buried it under junk fees so it didn’t even reduce my loan balance. To make things worse, they added over $1,500 in unnecessary maintenance plans and nearly $1,000 in inflated “registration” fees without clearly explaining them. This dealership kept us there all day, wore us down, and then handed us paperwork that made a $10,000 car cost nearly $20,000. That is not honest business. That is predatory lending and deceptive sales practices. If you’re thinking about buying here, please be careful. Read every line of your contract, because they will smile at you while slipping in fees and terms you didn’t agree to. I am already filing complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Florida Attorney General about how this dealership treated me and my mother. More
