Worked with the very polite and helpful Steve Chaves who was charming, co-operative and helpful. We were ready to do a deal, the only remaining negotiable factor being the value of a trade in vehicle. In co was charming, co-operative and helpful. We were ready to do a deal, the only remaining negotiable factor being the value of a trade in vehicle. In comes the Manager, (Joe I believe),The amount offered for the trade in was well below the value suggested by all online appraisal tools, by a factor of 40 to 50%. I then asked a simple question which caused an adverse and angry response from Joe. I asked "Give me your very best bottom line" and I'll either bite or reject. "That's not how it works" he advised., angrily and with a bellicose combative attitude. I picked uo my toys, hopped out of the crib and went home. Secured a far better deal and sale form another dealer. Joe: Act like a gentleman, not a petulant child More

Deceptive Dealership I originally got a quote through email from Ali and Tracy after finding the car I wanted on CarGurus. The quote was significantly lower than other quo I originally got a quote through email from Ali and Tracy after finding the car I wanted on CarGurus. The quote was significantly lower than other quotes I had gotten making me interested in buying from them. For over a week, I was emailing back and forth with them and wanted a clear cut quote as I didn’t want to have to drive 1 ½ hours down there so I asked many questions (what’s not included in the quote, do I have to trade in a car, is there any stipulations) and I was told I didn’t have to trade in a car, all the things not included in the quote were standard things (doc fees: 484, tax, registration). I spoke to another dealer and gave them the quote and they found that with the price they were quoting me, they’d lose ~$1,200. Again, I called and flat out mentioned what the other dealer said and asked how can they be making money in which they basically said it’s just high volume and having to finance through them. I went down there and given a quote which was around $2,000 more than the online quote they gave me. The quote I was given and the online quote includes a recent graduate discount and a military discount which was never mentioned and online it only mentioned that you had to finance through them. The quote included financing for 72 months. If you don’t finance through them it’s an additional $1,500. When I mentioned that this was never mentioned to me and that I was lied to, Inna stated that the whole point of Tracy and Ali was to get me in which she used to excuse the lying. I was already given a lower quote with a dealership who isn’t deceptive with pricing, gave me the exact car I wanted and didn’t require I finance through them. Stateline was able to match the pricing but I had to finance 72 months, get a different color than I wanted that was off of the lot. I went in with the intention of buying a car that day and left due to their lies and immediately bought with a dealership I knew I could trust. Be very careful when purchasing a car here. More

Steven took the time to go over all the marvelous features of the car with us and insisted we call him if we ever have a question. Great sales person! We also had the pleasure of working with Inna Perez. We have purchased many cars through the years and have dealt with many sales managers but no one like Inna! She was extremely sensitive to our needs and budget and helped us to get the car we love at the price we are happy with! Her friendly disposition is a real plus! More

A horrible experience I went to Stateline Subaru to check the details on a new Subaru Forester on the 13th March. Even though I had booked the appointment for the specific I went to Stateline Subaru to check the details on a new Subaru Forester on the 13th March. Even though I had booked the appointment for the specific stock #, the car was not there. Steve mentioned that it had to be brought from their lot which would take another 30 minutes. As it had taken 2 hours for me to drive FROM CT and considering the fact that I had test driven Foresters before, we started discussing the numbers. They appraised my Nissan Altima for the trade in and the final offer for the Forester was handed out to me. Joe , their GSM asked me if I could go for the deal right then. As I had to check with one more dealer - I took the written offer and replied that I will get back in couple of days. I also inquired about an Outback model for my colleague and was told there could be no more discount on the marked price for that model. I promised to get back by 15th and left for the day. I called up Steve on 15th and booked an appointment for 16th to finalize the deal. I reached Stateline with my colleague on 16 th. We were greeted by Steve. I clearly mentioned that I would finalize the deal only for the agreed upon final sales price after test driving the car. I proceeded to complete all the necessary documents. The car was present this time and test drove the vehicle with Steve explaining the features. After the drive, the documents were forwarded to the finance section. Steve then proceeded discussion with my colleague. We then discovered that the internet car price on his Outback model had miraculously jumped up by $1500. My colleague was willing to consider the price on 13 th. However, Joe wasn't willing and blamed on some internet glitch. My colleague backed out at this point and then Joe dropped the news. If my colleague isn't buying, My Deal Is Off Too!! Just for my car I have to pay $1000 more!!! I still don't know at what point my colleague came in to the equation. At no point have I mentioned that I would be tagging him along for the appointment. Logically, they should have started discussion with him first if that was the driving point of my deal. But it's very evident that logic and common sense don't apply to this dealership. They force you to the end of the process until you are emotionally attached to the car and then they shoot the price up. My colleague was just an excuse in this case. It's appalling that such unethical trade practices exist in this country. Steve seemed to be genuine and equally flustered like us, but understandably, he was helpless. More
