1 / 2 Hello, I am the owner of a 2023 Ford F-250 Lariat 7.3 (VIN: [1FT8X2BN0PEC07889]). My truck is currently at WAYNE AKERS FORD 2000 10TH AVE N, LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL 33461] for the rear-view camer Lariat 7.3 (VIN: [1FT8X2BN0PEC07889]). My truck is currently at WAYNE AKERS FORD 2000 10TH AVE N, LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL 33461] for the rear-view camera recall update (Ford Recall 25S49 / 25S17). The service department has had my vehicle for over 4 days, and I have been told the update is still not complete. According to Ford’s recall bulletins, the labor time for this software update is typically 0.3–1.4 hours, and multiple other dealers have confirmed it should take no longer than 2 hours. I dropped my vehicle off on Monday 9/29/25 at approximately 2 p.m. for an oil change and tire rotation. I was told my truck may be ready that evening or possibly early the next day. The service writer I am dealing with, Steve Sellick, mentioned I had a recall for my rear view camera and I stated “everything with it has been working fine.” I didn’t hear from anyone that evening so I assumed they were delayed with the amount of volume in the service department, and it would be ready the next day. The next day around noon I began calling the service department where I got no answer from Steve despite calling several times. I left voicemails stating that I was curious about the status of my truck and how I could pick it up where it would coincide with my work schedule. I am guessing the way the dealership works, once they assign you a service writer, if you call, it automatically forwards you to the assigned writer. With no clarification or anyone answering the phone, I checked my ford pass app where I found that my oil life had been changed to 100 percent and the tires were inflated way more than I would have liked. This lead me to believe that the oil change and tire rotation were complete. The ford pass app also showed that my vehicle location was not in the service bay anymore but outside in the parking lot. I showed up and waited for Steve and he said that they had been running the “update” all night and its only at 18 percent. I inquired about what he was updating and he stated that he decided to “go ahead and take care of the recall.” Okay. No big deal. Steve states that it will be done in the morning and I can pick it up then. On Wednesday 10/1/25 I try to reach out to the service department and Steve to see the status of my truck. I get no answer or no help all day until he finally sends me a text message at 3:02 p.m. stating “HEY AUSTIN. WE RAN THE UPDATE ALL NIGHT AND WAS ONLY 18% DONE THIS MORNING WE ARE ON THE 3RD UPDATEAND ONLY AT 25% NEVER HAD ONE TAKE THIS LONG. GIVE UP UNTIL 4:00 PM AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHERE WE’RE AT. I responded with “Can you all give me a rental for this taking so long? Or just cancel it because my radio and back up camera were working fine. It get to 4 p.m. no call from Steve. I wait until 4:45 p.m. and call him. No answer. Steve texts back 10 minutes later, “I CAN YOU GIVE A RENTAL IN THE MORNING I ONE COMING BACK. IF YOU CAN BE HERE AT 9:30AM. Next morning, Thursday the 2nd. I try to call Steve multiple times to confirm the rental so I can make it fit my work schedule. I call him multiple times and all I receive back is a text message saying ON PHONE WILL CALL YOU BACK in all capital letters. So I show up at 9:15 a.m. and walk up to Steve and inquire why he can’t seem to answer his phone because I’ve tried to contact him over 20 times over the past 4 days. He acts like he doesn’t know who I am and then states that he needs to get me in a rental. I ask what is taking so long and he tells me it just takes time. He has never done one of these but also states that he has had a vehicle there for over 4 days for the same “update.” I have this entire encounter on video. He quickly tries to push me out of there by getting me into a rental truck. Meanwhile I am looking at my Ford pass app and notice that my truck still has not moved from the same spot it was in since Tuesday. After getting into the rental and leaving the dealership. Did not explain why they couldn’t balance the truck or why this is my 2nd torque converter in 2 years with only 10,000 miles. Said brake pads were fine. They are grinding and warped. Didn’t check my fluids. The other shop send pictures. Radiator fluid was almost empty. They said it was very dangerous to drive like that. Your Service advisor was drunk when he finally returned my call after 3 days of dropping truck off to tell me what was wrong with the truck. No courtesy wash and truck smelled of pizza when I got it back More

I have been patiently waiting for a call back for an appointment to the body shop. I have been there twice and have been told that I would hear back the next day or the following day. So more than likely again I will have to initiate contact. That’s not the way a responsible dealership should operate ! More
