I brought my truck in because the check engine light came on. After diagnosing the issue, they found that the air filter was in terrible condition and needed to be replaced. I was charged a diagnostic fee ju on. After diagnosing the issue, they found that the air filter was in terrible condition and needed to be replaced. I was charged a diagnostic fee just to have the air filter changed, which was frustrating. What really bothers me is that just 30 days earlier, I had an oil change done at Jim Butler, and they claim to perform a multi-point inspection during every service. If they had actually checked the air filter, as they say they do, this issue could have been caught and resolved then—before the check engine light ever came on. The technician even told me the filter was well beyond needing replacement. The air filter didn't go from great to really bad in just 30 days. My opinion the diagnostic should have been waved due to Jim Butler's not inspecting it like they said they did. It sounds like I need to find a different shop. More

Scratch left on door, brand new truck. Wasnt going to make a big deal but i didnt even get a call back from service manager after leaving voicemail.
