Service department damaged my truck and blamed me! EDIT: Dealership reimbursed me $83 for replacement airbox I found on ebay, but I still have to spend my Saturday fixing something they broke. I'll us EDIT: Dealership reimbursed me $83 for replacement airbox I found on ebay, but I still have to spend my Saturday fixing something they broke. I'll use Serra Toyota from now on. I took my wife's 2011 Highlander in for a tire rotation and balance. After sitting for an hour, Dan came in and asked me who put the K&N filter on the truck. I told him I did, and he claimed that it broke the airbox and they could sell me another one for $700! First of all, the filter DID NOT break the airbox. I had put it on just a few weeks before and the hood had not been up since. The new filter has a rubber seal, where the OEM filter has a paper seal, making the airbox lid seal tighter. All that was required to reattach the lid was to hold light pressure while securing the bolts. After raising the hood on my truck, there was a fist-shaped hole in the airbox lid and the nuts that the bolts threaded into had been knocked out the bottom of the airbox. Their service technician had smacked it with his fist when trying to close it. First problem, I had only went in for a tire rotation and balance, so why was the hood up anyway? I didn't ask them to do anything to the air filter. Second problem, as I said before, I had personally put the filter in myself a few weeks before and the hood had not been up since. I know the truck was not broken when I took it there. Third problem, when I informed management of my issues, I was told that "we don't do business that way", but I haven't heard anything in the days since the phone call. Don't take your vehicle in for service if you want it back in one piece! I'm checking Zack's name below because he needs to know how his service department operates. More
I went to Bill Penney Toyota (BP) on Saturday, June 29th around 10:00AM and left around 8:30PM that night, looking at and driving various Toyotas. I have driven a Camry for over 17 years, but had eliminated around 10:00AM and left around 8:30PM that night, looking at and driving various Toyotas. I have driven a Camry for over 17 years, but had eliminated Toyota for my next car, given visits, reviews, ratings, etc. I guess that changed, first because of the great service from a specific salesman, Mark Dennis who spent an enormous amount of time telling and showing me every car that met the criteria I had established for my next car--and secondly, I thought I was going to just "look at" a Toyota Prius. It was a great car, and I was infatuated with the MPG ratings and the Hybrid engine. I am/was very impressed with Mark's total, detailed knowledge of all the cars, and especially the extra systems like navigation, blue tooth, , etc. I've been looking off and on for 8 months, and have visited numerous dealerships, and Mark is probably the best I dealt with in knowing his product (s)! I had also looked at other car dealerships and had reduced my search to the Accord, Civic, Sonata and Fusion, but the Prius cars that Mark showed me, and let me drive, were "very impressive". Many salesmen may have lost potential sales by not being able to impress me with all the "new technology packages/amenities". I had also expressed an interest, although mildly, about other Hybrids that Toyota might have, but did not think that "any" would meet my criteria. I loved the Prius, and at 50MPG, it was an amazing car, with lots of bells and whistles to make it even more impressive. While I was looking at different models, I noticed a Camry XLE Hybrid under their sales tent. To make my written "experience" shorter, the XLE Hybrid turned out to be "exactly what I was looking for", because it gave me the "Big car" feel, but was rated at 40MPG! I thought to myself, "Was that even possible"? Mark assured me that it was, and that Toyota was conservative in its "fuel MPG ratings". While a little skeptical, I did know that other manufacturer's Hybrid cars were not getting the advertised ratings. So, bottom line, while I loved the Prius and came so close, we bought the XLE Hybrid, a beautiful car, with more room that I would not have had in the Prius, and hopefully close to 40MPG! It has a real "big car" feel to it, and I guess you can say that I'm a very happy Customer! The entire BP staff was great to work with, and I received a very fair price for my new car, and a good price for my 2004 Camry SE trade-in! Mark was a fantastic Sales Rep that I would recommend to 'anyone'. I was also helped by Roberto Diaz and others in the management line. As you can tell, I was there a long time, beyond closing, but everything was taken care of, and noone was rushing me. They took whatever time needed to take care of their Customer, me! Mark was extremely customer oriented, and i can really appreciate that, having worked a lot in the service industry with my dad and even in the military. I am very particular when making a decision of this magnitude, so the BP staff were responsive to my many, many questions and comments. I have been back to BP to get some help and hands-on assistance with my new navigation, blue tooth and other systems, and they took time to help me with that--very much appreciated! You have to take care of your Customers, and Bill Penney did a great job with "this" customer. And, they were able to keep me as a Toyota owner. Last bit of information is that I've made two trips of 90+ miles with my new Camry XLE Hybrid, and I got 38.2 and 45.5 MPG--not bad!! I guess you can say that "I would go back again to BP", especially with this kind of service. Colonel L. More

I wasn't informed that my oil change would take 4 1/2 hours, if so I would have come back another time, or maybe when they were not so understaffed........... I actually visited this dealership to get my 2006 Mitsubishi Galant serviced. My car ended up needing much more work that what I came in for. In addition, the work needed amounted to pretty much more Mitsubishi Galant serviced. My car ended up needing much more work that what I came in for. In addition, the work needed amounted to pretty much more than the car was worth. Although the service advisor did a great job of explaining all the issues to me, it was Trell Barnes, the friendly new car salesman that approached me while waiting on my car. He discussed the 5k test drive contest to me. I felt no pressure at all to purchase a car, but before I knew it, I was driving home in a brand new Scion!! I am extremely happy with my purchase (and all the bells and whistles that came with it...the Toyoguard is the best). Trell and Roberto made sure that I was comfortable with the buying process and that I was happy with the financing terms. Mike was able to explain all the car goodies to me in layman's terms and he ensured that I knew how to use the car's bluetooth functions before leaving the lot. He also helped me move everything from my old car into the new (and it was a LOT of stuff). Sometimes buying a car can be a lengthy process, but even the employees who were not directly involved in my transaction had good conversation and smiles while I waited. Thanks to everyone at Bill Penney for your excellent service!! More
