My Review Of Herb Chambers BMW of Boston:

I've been taking my BMW to Herb Chambers for the past two and a half years for regular service as well as for issues that I refer to as brain teasers because their causes have rarely been immediately apparent. Matt Baker, my service rep, has been exceptional at working closely with service, keeping me updated on the progress of the diagnosis or repair, securing a loaner for me, and getting me back into my car as soon as possible. Regarding the repairs, they have always been completed correctly the first time and the costs have been comparable to non-dealership repair shops specializing in German cars. Further, every single person you encounter, from the gentleman that escorts you out of you car to the one that escorts you back in, is truly friendly, helpful, and customer focused. Herb Chambers takes customer service seriously. So, if you're looking for professional repairs by BMW experts at comparable prices and exceptional customer service, I can't imagine why you would go anywhere else.

My experience at herb chambers has been extremely pleasant. The staff is very friendly and always greets me. Matt is always available, responds to e-mails quickly and is very honest. I always feel welcome and I feel at ease knowing that a good OEM job will be done.

My Review Of Herb Chambers BMW of Boston:

Review is coming from a good car enthusiast who has spent a fair amount of time evaluating and buying cars :-). Had an pleasant and hassle-free car-buying experience with HerbChambers of Boston. I was eye-ing a good deal for a CPO vehicle and found Herb of Boston had some of the lowest priced deals around NE. My sales advisor was Ahmed, who was extremely helpful and answered all the question I had. He also was pretty knowledgeable. There was some haggling on the price of the trade-in, but they did have a very low rate already, so it was not a bad deal. The out of door process was very efficient once the deal was set.

Justin from finance also helped beat the current APR deal I got from my bank and was not pushy about all those paintguard/tire extra options.

Ahmed was not only great during the car deal process but came through with multiple calls after I took delivery of the car to answer any other questions I had including on bluetooth, BMW assist etc. He even mailed the set of keys i forgot in my trade-in without the need for me to go pick them up.

Overall I recommend these folks for hassle free experience. But do your research first!

This was my first BMW purchase from Herb chambers. I live in NH and had the pleasure of working with Ahmed Jabrane. Ahmed was professional and knowledgeable the entire time. Ahmed went above and beyond for the sale of my car. He took the time to deliver the car up to NH to ensure it was convenient for me. Ahmed represents Herb chambers and BMW extremely well. It is nice that after the sale he continues to follow up and is quick to respond to questions.

My Review Of Herb Chambers BMW of Boston:

I purchase a vehicle there 10 months ago from Richard at a good deal because the body model was changing. I inquired about purchasing a new model (2013) and was given a quote by Meghan Zani a saleperson about 3000 above invoice. That wasn't too bad but It was a no-trade transaction plus the manager was driving it for his own personal use and had a few thousand miles on it? In my book that is a used car and should have been discounted same as any other vehicle driven off the lot. I was then contacted by Richard who said he can give quote a very aggressive number, when I mention my trade-in plus snow tires and rims and broke down the numbers for him I never heard back? If this is how this dealership deals with returning customer then they just lost one, who will be buying bmw's for some time to come.

My Review Of Herb Chambers BMW of Boston:

I was disappointed and insulted by the lack of professionalism at the parts department at Herb Chambers BMW Boston. I will provide some data from my perspective so that others may be able to benefit from my experiences and decide for themselves. At a minimum, one moral of the story is: If you live in New Hampshire, call from a Boston area phone for a quote, they use caller ID and you will receive a better price due to a “more competitive market”.

I called the parts department for quote on two BMW original equipment Rims that I needed to replace. After providing the VIN they were able to locate two in stock and quoted a price of $359.91 each, and provided me with a Quote #. After checking with the Peabody dealer and finding they only had one in stock (quoted the same price), I called Herb Chambers back, provided my quote # and reserved the Rims – I was then provided an invoice #. When the rims were picked up an hour later the invoice read: $479.58 each. A 33% increase.

The responses provided (in order)
1) “$479.58 is the list price, we didn’t realize you were quoted something lower” (Peabody quoted the same $359.91 price)
2) “Sorry, we thought you needed Rear rims not front rims” (VIN # shows all 4 rims are the same, and the right rim was provided)
3) “I’m sorry, this was my fault (manager), I didn’t want to keep you on hold long, so I had process your order, and it was a clerical error. We are fixing it now”

After writing a letter to the dealership, the GM apologized for the error saying it was due to two customers calling from different “markets” (NH vs MA) at the same time that led to the confusion, and that this never happens.

A request for a written response on how the clerical error was made was refused, even though this would have made me more comfortable trusting their services in the future. This error caused just a couple hundred dollars in potential losses (whether intentional or not). What if the error were replacing the wrong brakes or an error in some other service that could pose a risk to the driver?
