I had to leave my car for service. I could not have asked for a more perfect service appointment. Santos was my Service Advisor. He kept me informed every step of the way. He handled all communication with the Warranty Company, which proved to be a challenge, yet, ending in my satisfaction. My car was ready and waiting for me when I returned to pick it up, even though I arrived much earlier than expected. I was completely satisfied with the repair and the courtesy inspection. I could not have asked for a more perfect service appointment, nor a better Service Advisor. I would gladly ask for Santos to be my Service Advisor at every visit. I want to share my experience because I don’t want anyone else to go through what I went through. I was born in Panama, and English is not my first language. I do not speak, read, or write English very well. Because of that, I had difficulty understanding the car contract. The salesperson made me feel comfortable and made me feel like I could trust them. They offered me coffee and donuts and treated me kindly. I was persuaded to sign contracts that I did not fully understand. I trusted them, but I did not really understand what I was agreeing to. About two months later, I discovered that I was responsible for approximately $57,000 in debt. I was shocked and confused. I kept asking myself, “How did this happen?” I may have difficulty understanding English, but I am not dumb. I believe my lack of understanding was taken advantage of. I have heard other people raise concerns about Spanish-speaking and other customers who have difficulty speaking, reading, or understanding English being taken advantage of. I cannot say whether those claims are true, but my experience made me very concerned. This situation caused me tremendous stress. I became overwhelmed and went to a mental health doctor to explain what I was going through because I was having difficulty functioning normally. I am sharing my story to warn others: If you do not understand a contract, do not sign it. Bring someone you trust who can translate and explain everything before you sign. I am looking for answers and accountability, and I hope sharing my experience can help protect someone else.

Classic story of playing nice when they sell the car and then switch up once you need them for something after. CJ was a pleasure to work with when we bought our vehicle and was still quite friendly when I needed him for something a year later. Our biggest issue was with the finance manager Mohammed Alhomsi. He seemed fine when we were buying the car but was very rude and unwilling to help during the my three visits to get a reimbursement. Finally on the fourth visit we got somewhere but I’ll have to wait a month and will have to work with the loan company instead. Accused us of lying, when I wasn’t, and didn’t admit to his mistake after the loan company admitted on phone call that it wasn’t our fault. Very unprofessional and haven’t had such a poor experience at a dealership ever. The service center is okay and receptionist as well as online support is not very welcoming either.

Terrible wait times, terrible communication. They stated even though my registered address with documentation is my actual address I had to switch my insurance to match the old address on my license. Waited several hours in the dealership with only one or two people looking at vehicles. I finally picked my SUV up and they forgot more paperwork. Days after they forget even more and I’m still waiting on a response about plates and other information after asking for over a week. Then they also said there was notary paperwork they forgot to give me last week to sign and overnight back. Horrible all around company. If I didn’t absolutely need this SUV I was going to walk out. Don’t waste your time here, no one knows what they are doing. I grew up working in car dealerships and this one is appalling.

Dishonest, Predatory, and Completely Unprofessional — Avoid This Dealership at All Costs I am absolutely appalled by my experience with Beck Chevrolet. I had my vehicle towed here while traveling out of state, and what unfolded was one of the most unprofessional and suspicious encounters I've ever had with a dealership. Beck Chevrolet told me my 2015 Chevy Cruze suddenly needed an $11,000 engine replacement, yet they refused to provide basic documentation such as actual compression test numbers, leak-down results, or photos to support their diagnosis. Any reputable service department knows these documents are standard — the complete lack of transparency is alarming. Then it got worse. When I attempted to pay for the diagnostic service so I could remove my vehicle from their lot, they claimed “New York law” prohibits them from accepting payment over the phone unless my credit card matches the ID physically in person. This is completely false. There is no such law, and when asked to cite the statute, they could not provide a single reference. Instead, they continued to hide behind a made-up excuse. At this point, it feels clear that Beck Chevrolet is taking advantage of customers who are from out of state and vulnerable. They made retrieving my own vehicle unnecessarily difficult, refused reasonable payment methods, and provided no proof of the work they claimed to perform. Their conduct raises serious concerns about honesty, ethics, and compliance with the New York DMV Repair Shop Act. If you value transparency, integrity, and fair treatment, do yourself a favor and stay far away from Beck Chevrolet. This dealership’s practices are predatory, misleading, and completely unacceptable. I have already filed a formal complaint with the New York DMV, and I strongly encourage others who have been mistreated to do the same.
