Advantage Chevrolet really does live up to their name: they really do take ADVANTAGE of you.I purchased a new Trailblazer LT from this Hodgkins location. I explicitly told my salesman, Alberto Medina, abo they really do take ADVANTAGE of you.I purchased a new Trailblazer LT from this Hodgkins location. I explicitly told my salesman, Alberto Medina, about the online "Advantage Price" of $24,695, showed him the ad, and he told me, "I got you." Instead, the finance manager, Dennis Reilly, covertly slipped in $10,701.31 in unauthorized warranties, phantom accessory fees, and unadvertised base-price markups that completely contradicted the advertised price. When I caught the fraud the next morning, sales manager Mike Armstrong only agreed to fix the problem and honor the price after I presented undeniable, written proof of their deceptive practices. The mess was completely cleaned up, but a couple of days later, General Sales Manager Glenn Smith decided to insert himself into the situation. After I posted an honest review exposing them, Glenn panicked. He repeatedly called me and left a recorded voicemail threatening that the owner would "cancel the whole deal" and hold my upgraded floor mats hostage unless I removed the review. He explicitly tried to throw the dealership owner under the bus, claiming the owner was the one demanding the cancellation. He also tried to coerce me into signing a legal liability "release" waiver just to get the mats I already paid for.I initiated a formal investigation through GM Corporate. Glenn flat-out lied to the corporate investigator until she confronted him with the explicit transcripts of his own recorded voicemails, forcing him to backpedal.I have since paid this vehicle off in full so they have zero leverage. I stripped their trash advertising frames off my car, and a formal consumer fraud case is currently open against this dealership with the Illinois Attorney General’s Consumer Fraud Bureau. GM has also issued a no-contact order against them.Stay far away from Alberto, Dennis, and Glenn. They operate on pure bait-and-switch tactics. More
I am 18 years and bought my first car - a used car without a warranty, so it had a 10 day return policy. 20 days after purchase my fuel pump went out, as well as something in the front end. Cost was without a warranty, so it had a 10 day return policy. 20 days after purchase my fuel pump went out, as well as something in the front end. Cost was $1,600. Michael Armstrong had the dealer reimburse me for the cost of repairs!! Thank you, Michael. More
