So my battery has failed 4xs this past year on a new Forester I purchased on Feb 2023. Have to have a service tech come out each time to restart it. Nice guys but takes an average of 60-90mnts to get to Forester I purchased on Feb 2023. Have to have a service tech come out each time to restart it. Albany Subaru has not offered to change this battery even though it's been an issue and I predict will continue to be an issue. More

My Subaru Outback serviced yesterday. James Madison was helpful, friendly, and informative. Everything finished on time. My wife and I were on a long road trip up the coast. Our check engine light came on. We are from Phoenix, AZ, visiting friends in Richmond, CA. We were able to make an appointment for Friday, July 5th, right after the Independence Day holiday. Albany Subaru accommodated us in so many ways! First, they correctly and efficiently diagnosed our problem (Thermocontrol Bypass)—and found the origin of the problem, (water pump) not just treating the symptom. This was a huge relief because our journey back to Arizona from the Bay Area meant traveling through the desert and constant high road temperatures. Travelers are at the mercy of mechanics. My interactions with Jay Parafina and Christine West were both thorough and very helpful in understanding the service department's processes and communication with us about details! I requested a loner car and they went out of their way to help get a car for us! Great communication! Great Service! I highly recommend Albany Subaru for the experience they gave us. More

Remarkably bad technical quality control. Recurring Issue since 2018 Forester first brought in 04/04/23, then on 08/31/2023, 09/19/2023, 07/08/2024 07/10/2024 for the same issue not resolved Recurring Issue since 2018 Forester first brought in 04/04/23, then on 08/31/2023, 09/19/2023, 07/08/2024 07/10/2024 for the same issue not resolved to date. 07/08/2024 car was returned to customer, and the next day unsafe and with added problems. Warning lights resurfaced ("Hill Assist" & "Check Engine"), in addition to "Vehicle Dynamic Control" and X-Mode Light. There was a new and pronounced hesitation when putting the foot on the accelerator and car speeding up. In addition the air conditioning fan was making a tump tump tump noise never heard before. (I was informed it was just a coincidence, and $245 would be needed for subaru to investigate. the sound.) 07/10 subaru found one of the evac line was disconnected but not resecured at subaru's service center, explaining the acceleration hesitation. Car was returned to customer, only to find out the shortly after leaving service center, all four warning lights remain on, after wasting a significant amount of customer time a significant amount was paid. I was greeted warmly and promptly. The drop off and pick up were easy and smooth and the service was great. And bonus that the service was all under warranty so I had nothing to pay.
