I've bought for myself and have helped family and friends buy cars from dealerships over the years but I've never dealt with a family owned car business. The difference was substantial. Ultimately I traded my Wrangler in for a Tacoma and the entire negotiation process was transparent. I got an amazing price on the Tacoma and a great price on my trade in. Michael got all the paperwork done for me without hassle and quite quickly at that. Bob is clearly proud of his business and for good reason. I recommend Auto Direct to my friends and family and anyone looking for a personalized and transparent experienced where you can feel confident you will get a fair deal. This is gonna be long, so bear with me: I searched all over for a specific Nissan convertible that I couldn't find anywhere, and found it at Auto Direct Cars. It was listed online for 16k. I drove two hou over for a specific Nissan convertible that I couldn't find anywhere, and found it at Auto Direct Cars. It was listed online for 16k. I drove two hours, arrived at the showroom and was greeted by Stacey who was extremely pleasant to deal with, and showed me around until Bob the owner was available to talk with me, but I fell in love with the Nissan right away. Sat down with Bob who was very friendly and didn't push me at all. I was told that the car hadn't been serviced or certified yet and that once that was all done, it would be raising the price to approximately 18k. Initially I was upset that the internet price wouldn't be able to be honored - but Bob went above and beyond to show me that their dealership was trustworthy, to the length of sending me the invoice of what they actually paid for the car at the auction (almost 17k.) He also sent me everything that was done during the servicing, which included a fair amount of tuneups and fixings. The upgraded price also included a 5k mile warranty (which was later upgraded to 6k without me even asking), as well as a promise from him that upon taking the car to be inspected by my trusted mechanic two hours away, if there was anything at all wrong with the car that they missed (which they assured me they didn't), they would immediately fix it. With all that in mind, I became comfortable with the new price only because this car was a really rare find, it did get serviced by his team and sometimes it really does come down to supply and demand, plus this price wasn't THAT far off from the original one. I moved forward with the sale, and all throughout Bob went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. He called me with updates constantly and was very transparent. On the day I went to pick up the car, there was a $699 doc fee added to the price. Again, not a dealbreaker - just expect it when you go. All dealerships have doc fees, and while I expected it to be capped at $75 due to my state's regulations, I forgot they aren't in New York. New Jersey doesn't have a cap to doc fees. The car looked absolutely beautiful. Practically shining. Inside and out. It looked brand new - shocking for a car that was ten years old! Of course being the perfectionist I am, I found a tiny scratch towards the bottom of the car that could've just been acquired from regular driving. Bob immediately went to the service department to get supplies and scrubbed it for me until I could barely notice it. Then I realized there were no floor mats in the car - and Bob picked up his things and drove to the local store to then BUY ME FLOOR MATS - now if that isn't customer service, what is? These guys really stand behind their cars and want you to be happy with what you drive off with. I got the car, drove it home, but knew I wouldn't feel 100% comfortable until I brought it to my mechanic that's serviced my family's cars for years. I just brought it to him today, and at the end of their lengthy inspection which involved driving it and inspecting it all over on the lift, they gave the car a CLEAN bill of health - not only that, they told me they were surprised at how well-kept it was, and what great condition it was in. That removed any last doubts I had in my mind. This was my first ever car purchase (rather than a lease), and a USED car at that, 10 years old- and I gotta say - whether you're also a first-time buyer, or whether you're a longtime buyer, I would strongly recommend Auto Direct Cars to anyone and everyone. Their customer service is impeccable, and they will go above and beyond to ensure you're happy. Their cars are sparkling and all seemed in just as perfect condition as mine. When you go into their showroom, you're instantly amazed at their selection. Someone was there buying their FIFTH car from them, and I watched them complete the purchase and drive off. Go ahead, try them. They're good people. I'd definitely come back if I needed another car. I was free to browse comfortably on my own with no pressure. The 1999 Firebird I purchased was just as promised. No BS just straight forward honesty. I wasn't buying the most expensive car on the lot but they treated me like I was. I am a collector and was just adding a daily driver to the collection.
