bad experience Car was towed to dealership to have a water pump replaced. I informed the dealership that I was unable to pick up car for about two weeks because I was out of town. I never received a phone call to let me know the status of the car repairs and when I tried to contact service department I could never get through to anybody two days in a row and finally asked to be transferred to cashier to see if a bill was prepared for my car. This is how I found out that my car was finished and ready to be picked up. During the two times I tried to call the dealership I was put on hold while the phone rang to the service department once for over 15 minutes until I was connected to service writers answering machine. Left a message but did not get a call back. Second day after several minutes, more than 5, I asked to be transferred to cashiers. I was delivered to dealership to pick up car, paid cashier, car was brought around for me to drive back to my home 80 miles away. When I got in car and started it, engine warning light when on immediately, cooling fan began racing and another warning light was on. I hadn't left dealership parking lot yet. I drove into service garage and eventually talked with the service writer, Greg who was very nice, was given a loaner to leave dealership. Within an hour, I was called by Greg to let me know the car was fixed. It turned out that the battery was low possibly due to sitting for the approx. two weeks at dealership. How car got from where it was stored to where I was to pick it up on the lot without someone noticing the obvious problems is interesting. My first service writer was Mike. He's the one who failed to return my message left or call just to let me know car was finished , etc. I wouldn't normally take such time to write this type of review but felt strongly enough about the very bad experience that I would hope that the management would work towards improvement. I am planning to purchase an X5 in the near future to replace a Mercedes SUV. I thought I knew where I would be purchasing it now not so sure. Respectfully Kevin More
Pleasurable Buying Experience Start to Finish I've purchased several cars over the years. My entire experience at Autohaus was by far the most pleasurable. I met Karen Lowery my first visit who I've purchased several cars over the years. My entire experience at Autohaus was by far the most pleasurable. I met Karen Lowery my first visit who was most helpful and patient in explaining details of the BMW I was interested in. We talked some pricing but there was NO high pressure pushiness or haggling. I returned for an appraisal on my trade-in and again was treated with patience and respect. We actually came to an agreement later on the phone with a mutually beneficial deal. Sale day was another pleasurable experience with thorough explanations of vehicle equipment, warranty, and financing options. The entire process was enjoyable and I love my new BMW. We were treated very well on our trade and the the vehicle we purchased. Once we got to the dealership, Bob had most of the paperwork started, showed us the 2012 X5, took us to the finance person (Rick) to complete the paperwork, then to the vehicle, and had all the options on the vehicle. We were out of the dealership in about an hour. This was the best vehicle purchasing experience we have ever had. The way the deal was made and the speed of getting everything completed meant a lot to us. Also, everyone we spoke to on the day of our purchase was very polite, professional, and courtesious. This is our fourth BMW over the last 15 y Bob Dedert handled our sale professionally and with good humor. I am a classic "buyer's remorse" customer. This is our fourth BMW over the last 15 years with Autohaus, having moved from the convertible to now our second 528i. Even though I had already signed for the new 5 series vehicle, I wondered about other options/prices. Bob insisted that I drive the 3 series and SUV until I was comfortable I had made the right decision. Always low-key, soft spoken, with a dry sense of humor, Bob is a perfect match for the customer uncomfortable with the car buying process. Thanks, Bob! More
