I called for an estimate on an oil change and was told it was $150 but with a 50% discount it would be $75. When I got there I was told first by the valet that he had no idea what type of service I needed o was $150 but with a 50% discount it would be $75. When I got there I was told first by the valet that he had no idea what type of service I needed or want it would cost and was sent inside to wait for my advisor. 30 minutes later (much too long) my advisor called and told me it would in fact be $290! I mentioned the 50% discount and was told it would save me $50 because an oil change is only $100. The rest was some sort of additives to the air conditioning and something added to the oil. This is a classic bate and switch which I was not happy about. I ended up paying $244 for something that I expected would be $75. Next time I will go elsewhere. solutions: 1. provide accurate information on the phone to Manage expectations. 2. Don’t keep customer waiting 30 minutes just to speak to an advisor. 3. If there are discounts the advisor should know not expect me to tell him. More
