My experience with BMW of Silver Spring was not a positive one. I recently purchased a 2004 BMW X3 3.0 with only 42,000 miles on it. The salesman, Lonnie, was polite and efficient, and is the only re positive one. I recently purchased a 2004 BMW X3 3.0 with only 42,000 miles on it. The salesman, Lonnie, was polite and efficient, and is the only reason why I have this dealership 2 stars. After working out the details of the sale with Lonnie, the Used Car Sales Manager, Rick, came over to review things. I inquired about what guaruntees came with the car, and he reviewed the usual (or legally required) material with me - 3 days money-back guaruntee and 30-day, 1,000 mile powertrain warranty covered 100%. I had planned on purchasing a certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle because BMW repairs tend to be expensive. Rick assurred me that his dealership was out to provide excellent customer service and I stupidly took his word on it after shaking his hand. 70 hours after the sale, my panaramic moonroof broke. It became stuck open and would not close. I was assigned Roberto as my service advisor. Even though it was les than 72 hours when I reported the problem, Roberto called to tell me the dealership was not covering the repair and that it would cost $2,700 to repair. Obviously I found this to be unacceptable and spoke with Rick, who after two days of back-and-forth phone calls advised me that the best they could do was discount the repair to $1,400. Still unsatisfied, I spoke to Mark, the general sales manager. He promised to at least have the roof sealed so I could use the vehicle. So, I went to pick up my new X3...and found that they had left the sunshade open and disconnected power to the moonroof, leaving me with a lovely view of bird feces and little noise protection. Roberto,clearly thrown into a messy situation and always in a hurry, promised to have it fixed by the next day. After his call, I returned to the dealership - to find the check engine light on. For the second time in two days I returned home in the same loaner car. Roberto called the next day to advise an air valve in the engine had become stuck open, and that again the dealer was not covering this (despite the car being within the powertrain warranty). After threatening to cancel the cashier's check I used to pay the deposit, Rick agreed to cover the powertrain item that was so obviously covered by the 30-day warranty. My fight to have the mooonroof fixed is not over and I would definitely NOT reccomend this dealership to anyone. Two stars because of the mild-mannered salesman and the nice Z4 loaner. More

The people were knowledgeable, friendly, and polite. My previously owned 750i was in pristine condition upon delivery, and every possible effort was taken to make sure I was satisfied. It was one of those pleasant occasions where I came away believing that the dealership was doing their absolute best to make sure I was going to be a happy customer, both in the deal, and in the quality of the car. I would definitely buy from them in the future. More

We bought our 2006 X-5 from Rick in 12/2008. In 3/2011, the CD player (newly installed when we bought the car) broke. The cost of a new one was over $1000. We called Rick & he sent us a CD player next da the CD player (newly installed when we bought the car) broke. The cost of a new one was over $1000. We called Rick & he sent us a CD player next day for just the cost of shipping! It's now installed and works great. Rick's a pleasure to deal with, and we'd definitely use this dealer again! More
By far the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. I had been looking all over for a 2008 335XI, and was very particular about the features that I wanted. I finally found one on the BMW of Silver Spri I had been looking all over for a 2008 335XI, and was very particular about the features that I wanted. I finally found one on the BMW of Silver Spring website and so I gave them a call. I spoke to Lonnie and he was incredibly helpful in answering all my questions and helping me to secure financing through BMW - which was more complicated then usual because I was waiting for an insurance check to clear to pay off my former vehicle which had recently been totaled. I set up an appointment to come in and see the vehicle and meet with Lonnie that night - and from the time I got there to the time I left (maybe an hour and a half total) I was more than satisfied with Lonnie's professionalism, expertise and helpfulness. We got a deal worked out very quickly, and then Anthony, the finance manager helped secure me the best financing rates I had seen so far while shopping for a new car. Since the car I was buying was still going through the final stages of BMW's Certified Pre-Owned Inspection, Lonnie got me hooked up in loaner 328, even though it was very very late at night and most of the employees had gone home for the day. I picked up my new car the next day - and I have not been happier. Some minor issues have come up in the short time I have owned the car - but BMW of Silver Spring has taken care of those without missing a beat. I would highly recommend making your next purchase from BMW of Silver Spring. Give Lonnie a call and you will not be disappointed. More

He was so thorough in explaining everything about our vehicle from the vehicle's history to the certification process to how everything works inside. We really appreciated all the time David spent with us. Once we decided to make the purchase, Rick introduced himself and made sure that David met all of our needs. Working with Anthony to finalize all the paperwork was great too. BMW of Silver Spring exceeded our expectations and we love our 2008 528xi!!! More
Buying a car is a very stressful event especially when buying a high end vehicle like a BMW. I purchased a used 3 series BMW. I had a few minor issues and let my nerves get the best of me. Rick, Lonnie and Anthony couldn't have been nicer, they were very patient, calm and very friendly with me. They know their buissness and seemed to be aware of the stressfulness of the situation. My issues were resolved and I took delivery of my car. I really appreciate how I was treated by them even when I wasn't so nice. I wanted to also comment on the condition of the vehicle. I bought a 2007 vehicle but to look at it, it looks brand new. They did an excellent job of reconditioning my vehicle as well as all the others on their lot. I had visited a few other BMW dealers and was not pleased. I did not feel comfortable, I did not feel like I was a valued customer and felt like all they wanted to do was sell me a car and make as much money as they could. I had all but given up on buying a BMW for that reason. I found this website and saw the high rating BMW of Silver Spring had acheived and decided to give them a try (plus they had the exact car I wanted) and I am glad I did. I was greeted when I walked in, offered a beverage, they opened doors for me and all the sales people had smiles and happy to answer all my questions.
