Byers Certified Toyotas, WAS I SCAMMED? I purchased a Byers CERTIFIED 2018 highlander in April of 2022. As part of the certification major systems are ALLEGEDLY inspected and repaired or I purchased a Byers CERTIFIED 2018 highlander in April of 2022. As part of the certification major systems are ALLEGEDLY inspected and repaired or replaced….. Right? WRONG!!!!! Just six months after purchasing the car I took it back to Byers for service, they told me the BRAKES WERE SO BAD THE CAR WASN’T SAFE TO DRIVE. I had only put a few hundred miles on the car in that short six month period (I work from home) Byer refused to cover the repair even though I was within the 12 month warranty and the fact that either THEY DIDN’T INSPECT THE BRAKES OR CHOSE NOT TO REPLACE THEM DURING THE CERTIFICATION INSPECTION. Instead selling an unsafe vehicle to their customer. The Questions I ask myself are; * Did Byers even do the Certification inspection? * If they did they would have seen the brakes were worn out, did they choose not to do the repair and push the expense to the customer even though the brakes were not safe? * Or did they skip the inspection completely and simply don’t care about their customers? * Why didn’t they take responsibility for the situation rather than sell an unsafe vehicle? In my opinion, not trustworthy behavior by any measure More
