After continuing to share my negative experience with Carlson regarding my unresolved VSA cancellation, I received two voicemails from Carrie Haugerud, the GENERAL SALES MANAGER, on August 19th. At 11 Carlson regarding my unresolved VSA cancellation, I received two voicemails from Carrie Haugerud, the GENERAL SALES MANAGER, on August 19th. At 11:10 AM: "Sasha, it's Carrie at Carlson Toyota. I love that you continue to bash me online when all I'm trying to do is help you and yeah, I did call you "this guy" because you were upset, and you are upset. So, I'm just trying to get everything fixed for you, but the fact that you keep using my name online and speaking terribly about me makes me not want to help you at all. In fact, I'd like to stop payment on the check that I've already sent you for the $100, like I am trying to help you. I'm the only one who's helped you other than Nick Hemmeter. So, I don't know why you consistently go online and use my name. So, please call me. I'd love to have a conversation with you. I'd love to invite you in to talk to you, because all I'm trying to do is help you and serve you, and the fact that you keep throwing stones at me is not making me very happy right now. So, I'd appreciate a call back, Sasha. Bye" At 11:17 AM: "Hey Sasha, it's Carrie again. Um, let's just buy you car back. So, I, I, don't want somebody doing business with us, that you know, clearly cannot stand us, so, that is never our intent. So, I will give you what you paid for the car, um, and buy it back, if that is something you would like to do, and then you can go purchase a car somewhere else. I don't, I, we, I really just don't want somebody feeling this way about us, and clearly, we have, um, a terrible experience going with you, so, uh, let me know and we'll get you a check cut and we can buy the car back. Thanks so much, bye." I will keep my vehicle and this review! For context: When I purchased my vehicle from Carlson Toyota, Tom Do and Travis Lumsden asked for a five-star Google review. Unfortunately, the level of service I have experienced since then has been the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. In fact, posting reviews appears to be the only way to get a response from Carlson Toyota! I purchased a 2021 Toyota Camry at the end of May with a Vehicle Service Agreement. (I worked with Tom Do and Travis Lumsden; and Antonio Starr - who no longer works at Carlson.) Three days after purchasing the vehicle, I returned to the dealership to cancel the VSA. That form was LOST, but I was never notified. I had to call to find this out; and then filled out a new form. It took until AUGUST for Carlson Toyota to process the cancellation, despite dozens of attempts from me to get updates. I have received more information from Toyota Financial Services than I have from Carlson Toyota. I continuously was transferred to people that were not available, sent to voicemails, or told that someone would call me back, and would receive nothing. It was an endless LOOP; so that is where reviews came into play at the end of July! Upsetting enough, when I was finally forwarded documentation of the VSA cancellation in August by Carrie Haugerud, it included the exchange Carrie had with Kammie Hilyar, telling her: "This guy just blasted us again on his refund for VSA" Carrie, that does not accurately reflect what happened! It is disappointing that it took posting a review for my concerns to even receive attention. It amazes me how eager Carlson is to appreciate the positive reviews, but gets defensive over the negative reviews their own dealership causes! Reviews are a reflection of the experience your customers have. Imagine how the customer feels if the dealership is the one feeling "blasted." If I could have filed the Finance Product Cancellation Form to Toyota Financial Services, I would have. But unfortunately, that responsibility belonged to Carlson Toyota. It was on them to file it and keep in touch with me! The experience with Carlson Toyota has been a DISASTER. No care after you purchase. Within six months later, you’ll just be a "guy" to them. More
I had the opportunity to work with Nick Skogman in the Service Department during an extremely stressful situation, knowing I could potentially be facing some major mechanical issues with my Highlander. I Service Department during an extremely stressful situation, knowing I could potentially be facing some major mechanical issues with my Highlander. I purchased this Highlander from a non-Toyota dealership—which, in hindsight, was my first mistake—and I also didn’t realize the implications of purchasing a Canadian vehicle. The Highlander seemed to run perfectly for about eight months, but then I found myself facing a MAJOR mechanical nightmare. That’s when Nick stepped in. From the beginning, Nick listened. He truly heard my concerns, took the time to understand the full situation and all the complications involved, and then took action. He did everything within his ability—even working the system—to keep my costs down, explore every possible solution, find every available discount, and communicate with me throughout the entire process. Nick also shared some of his own experiences and offered professional advice based on his many years of working in dealerships. He made it clear that he would do his part to make sure I was satisfied, well cared for, and saved as much money as possible. And in the end, he did exactly that. He saved me a significant amount of money. He listened to my concerns and acted on them. He never rushed me, gave me the runaround, or made me feel like a burden. Most importantly, he made me glad that I was at Carlson Toyota. I genuinely felt that I was being given honest information and that everyone was doing everything Toyota had available to help me through a very difficult situation. We have always purchased Toyota vehicles because of our great experiences with their reliability. This particular experience really threw me for a loop—but talking with Nick changed everything. He listened, he acted, and the service team delivered. My next vehicle purchase will definitely be from a Toyota dealership. I now understand the value of knowing where the vehicle came from, who services it, and having a dealership that stands behind its work and its customers. Thank you, Nick, for listening, caring, and going above and beyond. I truly appreciate everything you did! More
I brought my car in on July 24, 2026, for a service appointment because one of my tires continues to lose air pressure whenever the temperature changes. I had brought the vehicle in a couple of weeks e appointment because one of my tires continues to lose air pressure whenever the temperature changes. I had brought the vehicle in a couple of weeks earlier for the same issue and was told the problem had been fixed by replacing the valve. Unfortunately, after that repair, the tire continued to lose air, so I returned to have the previous work checked. From the moment I arrived, my experience was disappointing. The service advisor, Neil, was unable to answer my questions or provide clear information about the previous repair. He also seemed unsure whether the technicians would be able to identify the same tire since the tires had been rotated. To make matters more confusing, his records indicated that the tire had been patched, which is not what I was told had been done and not what I was charged for. I also questioned the potential $195 charge because I was simply asking the dealership to inspect the work they had already performed. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, Neil became visibly frustrated and began raising his voice. I found his demeanor impatient, dismissive, and lacking the level of customer service I expect from a dealership. When I expressed that I would rather have my tires inspected elsewhere, Neil responded, "There's the door." I was shocked by this response. As a customer, I expected my concerns to be heard and treated with respect, even if there was a disagreement. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. Not only was my original tire issue left unresolved, but the way I was treated during my return visit has caused me to lose confidence in this dealership. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to Carlson Toyota for future service, and I cannot recommend their service department based on the treatment I received. More
The only reason this dealership is even getting 1 star is due to Antonio in the financing department, and the delivery guys. Long story short, we found a car online that advertised all the options my daughte due to Antonio in the financing department, and the delivery guys. Long story short, we found a car online that advertised all the options my daughter was looking for. We are 3 hours away from the dealership. Communication is very poor. My husband spent days trying to talk to the same person, and that never happened until I got involved and called the dealership. Carrie the sales manager was initially great, but that didn't last long. Brandon was good and got us the video we requested after some trial and error on how to send the video with good quality. When I expressed my concerns with this, I was told the sales guy "is still new and learning." I can appreciate that, but who is training him or making sure he's doing the job right? We decided to purchase the vehicle, with promise of delivery. Trying to complete the paperwork was a nightmare. Once we got in touch with Antonio, it was ok. He saved the sale. My daughter flew home from college for the summer about a week and a half after the car was delivered. When she was looking at it, she found that it didn't have the ambient lighting as was advertised. When I called to ask about it, I spoke with Carrie. She was rude, promised a call back, and I'm still waiting for that. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a car from this dealership unless there is an overhaul of the sales management and training. More
They want me to buy a car right after touching it? ?? xxxxty manner and he think he owned the cars. Don’t come here if just want to take a look. ?? xxxxty manner and he think he owned the cars. Don’t come here if just want to take a look. More
I came to this dealership to purchase a RAV4 in 2023. The purchasing experience was good, but the main problems I have now have been with the service department. When I purchased the car, I wanted extra The purchasing experience was good, but the main problems I have now have been with the service department. When I purchased the car, I wanted extra features installed such as remote start and heated seats. Those were installed. A few weeks ago, I had my car serviced due to a faculty jump start (which, I fully concede was my fault). However, my service was delayed by some significant mistakes (assuming a part needed to be replaced except it was just a fuse being in the wrong spot). Which, I appreciate their honesty in refunding the original part since that was not the issue. However, when I got my car back, the remote start no longer works and the heated seats were unplugged because they were "installed improperly" (so, the seats THEY put in were put in wrong). Now, I have contacted the dealership several times over the last three weeks to get my car in for an appointment to get the heated seats and remote start fixed and they have not gotten back to me. Very frustrated with the communications from the service department. More
The Toyota certification they do is a joke. They hide issues with cars and won't stand behind it when they get caught lying. I would suggest driving past this dealership. I had an appointment at 9 am yesterday, September 10 to do the paperwork for a 2022 Toyota Highlander. At 9:40, I asked my sales person (Mary Thao) to please check out what is going on. The finance person do the paperwork for a 2022 Toyota Highlander. At 9:40, I asked my sales person (Mary Thao) to please check out what is going on. The finance person I confirmed an appointment with was off and another guy comes out and has an attitude of arrogance because I asked legitimate questions expecting an answer for. Then he left and two sales managers come out. I asked questions and Johanna told me that the document fee of $350 and it was lawful to charge it. I read the section on the purchase order commenting on the truth about the document fee. It said it is not a law that the dealership charge the fee and can be uses as a profit for the dealership. There were another two fees that were unexplained. At this point I said I have to go home and come back with an appointment on Thursday at noon because today Mary is off. After I got home, the sales manager called and said they want to give my deposit back and do not want to do business with me. I do not recommend this dealership. They are scammers. and take the car away from you if you ask questions. I have never had an unfortunate experience like this buying a car anywhere. Don't go there unless you are willing to get charged for things unheard of. More
