The Hyundai service shop on 3033 Virginia Beach Blvd. is the worst experience I've ever had, careless and unprofessional staff. You need to make an appointment even for oil change three weeks in advance, and to be taking care of you like you just walk in. Ridiculous! I have leased (2) 2013 Hyundai's, and when the lease is mature I'll never come back again. The service manager Johnnie Landers is careless and superficial. He suggested me to leave the car for couples days in the shop, but when asked for rental he told me that rental is limited. I realized quick who I'm dealing with. More

Reverse lights were not hooked up once tail light hardware had been replaced (this has been resolved but it still never should've happened.)I was so dissatisfied I was going to go to another dealership for maintenance work and the ONLY reason I haven't done so is Abby Witmer, the customer service gal...(as well as Jonathan). Both of these young people are friendly and courteous. Jonathan took c/o my tail light problem and Abby is phenomenal in getting me an appt, finding out the problem, & quoting me correct prices. She is friendly, professional, and me, old enough to be her grandmother, I truly appreciate her helpfulness! I NEVER got a survey to comment on this young lady although I'm told I should always get one after every visit. I have yet to get one so this young woman has never gotten her fair share of scores from me. More

The buying experience was pleasant, enjoyable and most importantly, there was no pressure or stress! Ugur Duman was our salesperson, who was kind, professional, and courteous. He was quick to answer all our questions and helpful. Not only was he accommodating to us, but when we brought in our son who has special needs, Mr. Duman asked if there was anything else he can do to ensure our son was comfortable as well . This kind of professionalism and compassion is very appreciated! Well, they delivered! Our credit history is blemished by foolish mistakes that we made in the past and my credit score reflects this. However, Mr Duman and Mr Coyle never ceased to treat us with respect and dignity. And though, I came in pre-authorized from my current lender on a vehicle I am financing, they provided me a much better offer! Throughout the process, they worked with me in all aspects including monthly payment and the arranging of the down payment. Mr Duman and Mr Coyle never used any type of pressure tactics whatsoever, instead, they focused on finding solutions based on our situation. The result: We took delivery of our brand new car! We feel extremely comfortable and our very happy with our experience at Checkered Flag. Another testimony of their service: most dealers will ask you to write positive feedback on dealer review and feedback sites. No one at Checkered Flag mentioned this. We are so blessed to receive such great service, I advised Mr Duman that I would gladly initiate this on my own. Why even bother to make an appointment!?!?!? I had an appointment for a car inspection on April 29th at 3 o'clock. I informed the person at the service area that I would be waiting. I was told it was going to be one and a half hours. Well 33 minutes went by and the car was still in the spot I parked it. I went to the service desk and asked why. Well shortly after that I was told that the mechanics were pretty well backed up. If I did not ask who knows how long I would be waiting.( By the way they were going to take care of a recall along with the inspection) Someone could have informed me that the mechanics were backed up and asked me it I still wanted to wait. No consideration at this checkered flag location. The service manager did call me but I was not home. He said he wanted to talk to me about the situation. I returned his call the next day when I received it---but he has never tried to get back with me. More

Two weeks ago I had my Hyundai Genesis Coupe in for a 15,000 maintenance. While the car was at the dealer being service, they called to ask if I wanted to go ahead and have my tires balanced, recommendi 15,000 maintenance. While the car was at the dealer being service, they called to ask if I wanted to go ahead and have my tires balanced, recommending that this was a good thing to do whenever you have the tires rotated. I opted not to. I washed my car last Saturday, the first time since they washed it for me at my service appointment. I noticed that my rear tires had not been rotated. How do I know that, because the front and rear tires are different sizes. They can only rotate the tires from side to side. I have a scratch on the back rear wheel that is not noticable to the eye, but I know its there and I know when I did it. Sooooo glad I did not get ripped off for the tire balancing charge as I did for the tire rotation. More

Hall, Priority and my most hated dealership in the area(Nissan of Chesapeake/Victory Nissan) should take a class taught by Checkered Flag Hyundai in basic car dealership/customer service fundamentals 101 and they might be able to sell more than 1 vehicle a month.
