I bought a car with three year maintenance, and have in writing on the contract for sale that there is three year maintenance, yet they refuse to honor the contract and want to charge me for maintenance. I got Toyota corporate involved, and corporate confirmed that City World needs to honor the contract, yet City World still won’t honor what is in writing. My advice? Try Honda instead. Much more honorable customer service. More
The Old Bait and Switch This is the 5th Toyota dealership I have visited in the last month. It is, by far, the worst business in the tri-state area if not the country. Th This is the 5th Toyota dealership I have visited in the last month. It is, by far, the worst business in the tri-state area if not the country. They literally low-low-balled me on my trade! Their car had a very attractive price. Then once I was there the sales manager pulled the switch. He added a laughable $2,624 in phantom fees! Including $997 destination fee on a used Camry! I could not contain my laughter. Who in the world 'buys' from these people? Those who leave this place with a car did not buy, they were conned. Oh, one more fee note, did I mention the $1,670 prep fee?! I immediately left thinking: Who buys from this place? Is there not a State Attorney General in New York? Moreover, do these individuals use such money to put food on the table for their kids? More

Horrible Experience: Sold me a lemon In short, my experience at City World Toyota was, by far, my WORST experience as a customer in the United States. My car (2004 Toyota Corolla) started In short, my experience at City World Toyota was, by far, my WORST experience as a customer in the United States. My car (2004 Toyota Corolla) started giving me PROBLEMS a couple of weeks after I bought it from them and they REFUSED to fix it completely, they PRESSURE you psychologically into buying, and they have a very SLOW service. If you're looking to buy a car from people who care about customers, CWT is a WRONG choice. For example, the used car sales manager implicitly said that it's my fault that I chose a BAD car from them. I've been saving up for so long for this car, my first car. And all of this was RUINED on buying from them. Plus they WAISTED 1000$ worth of my money in time, Ubers, and nerves. If you'd like to read the whole story, here it is: First mistake by CWT: Rafael Melendez (Sales person) and Leo Bonetti (Sales Manager) push me towards buying although I explicitly said for at least 5 times that I wanna keep looking around. I won't go into details, but it was very unprofessional, and the conclusion I came back with that day is that car dealers are vultures. I never had a similar experience anywhere in the US. Second mistake by CWT: Leo tells me to come back and pay by credit card. When I come the next day, Rafael tells me I can only pay in cash. I stayed there for 4 hours (no exaggeration) for them to find a way. Third mistake by CWT: Check engine light turns on 2 weeks after I buy the car. I take it to their service center. Before they put in the new parts (catalytic converter) the car engine starts making noises. When I come back to put in the new parts, I ask them to fix the noise, they refuse to fix it as it was after the 30 day warranty. I paid around 150$ in uber to and from the service center because they didn't say explicitly that they're not fixing it (super unprofessional). Fourth mistake by CWT: I call Rafael and tell him what's happening. I suggest leasing a car instead. He rushes into it since he'll make more money. And he blatantly says "We'll have to appraise your car" as if I didn't just buy it from them. At CWT, he starts throwing paperwork at me towards leasing a new car before he even tells me how much will I get back from returning the corolla. Fifth mistake by CWT: After I start raising the issue to management, everyone kept saying my hands are tied and throwing it on someone else (Rafael --> Leo, Leo --> Paul (used car sales manager), Paul --> Julissa (from service center)). The funniest thing is when Paul says "You bought a 2004 Toyota Corolla, and that's your mistake" which shows that they don't have faith in their own cars (FAIL). I reply "It is your duty to make sure you are selling quality cars". He replies "That's what you think". So much for treating customers. More

AFTER signi I wanted to purchase a vehicle with pricing done online. Was given an out the door price via email and confirmed with 2 additional emails. AFTER signing paperwork with dealer, was told they would not honor price from email. I hold the sales manager solely responsible. DO NOT TRUST these people if they quote you a price. I am happily spending a little more at a dealer who is HONEST about their pricing. Overall a horrible experience with a smug, horrible sales manager. I do not recommend them. If I could give this person less than one star I would. More

Got soaked by CityWorld Toyota. I had my gear shift cable changed at Cityworld Toyota in the Bronx N.Y. When it became warm enough to use my air conditioner some weeks later, I disc I had my gear shift cable changed at Cityworld Toyota in the Bronx N.Y. When it became warm enough to use my air conditioner some weeks later, I discovered my passenger side carpet was soaked. I went back to see the person who handled the paperwork for my repair . I believe he was either out to lunch or on vacation. I showed a few service people the receipt showing I had work done there. I was told it would be $149.00 to have a look and give an estimate(!) I went to a business client of mine who has a shop and works on exotic Italian cars. The first thing he did was slowly pull back the front carpet starting from under the glove compartment. He showed me the air conditioner drain hose on the floor instead of through the hole in the floor a few inches away from where it belongs! Apparently the tech who did the job did not re-route it through the floor. Problem now solved. I called the service manager who claimed it was NOT possible for the tech to do this and told me to watch U-tube videos on how the job is done instead of OWNING UP TO MAKING A MISTAKE. . I called two other Toyota dealers I normally deal with, without disclosing my name. They said it is very possible this can happen. (Yes, I would have used these dealers if I could have. My shifter cable happened to fail about 400 feet from Cityworld Toyota.)The drain hose outlet just happens to be in the center of the floor near the center console where the shifter is, where they had to do the work.. I pulled up as much carpeting as I could, placed towels underneath and got out most of the water. I propped up the carpet underside with small wood blocks raising the carpet up about four inches. I put a huge tub of Damp-Rid on the driver's side rear floor. Baking the car in the sun, and driving with the windows opened dried it out without mold forming. Lots of my own time and gasoline. I have not resolved the problem with this dealer yet. The service manager DID offer to dry out my car. Why would he do this if he said the mistake was not possible? I have two witnesses, photos and video of the carpet being pulled up. I will soon see what Cityworld does for me. (Or what I may do) They certainly were happy to take nearly $700.00 for the shifter cable repair. I may post a review after I visit them again. More
