All my questions were answered with care, and additional information I didn't realize I needed was offered. The ordering process was thorough and transparent. I left with a good estimate of the pickup date, and pricing details (except for service contracts). Price was fair and reasonable; lovely not to have the back-and-forth dickering that takes hours. Although I was a referral to this dealership, I got the impression that all customers were being treated the same way. More
THE GREAT KAHL OF CITYSIDE! I have been playing with the idea of purchasing a new car for quite some time, after buying used after used and having a plethora of mechanical proble I have been playing with the idea of purchasing a new car for quite some time, after buying used after used and having a plethora of mechanical problems I finally said enough is enough. It was november and my car of the previous three years had started having issues, the cost to repair was over the total value so in turn I decided it was time. I had already began my search in my daydreaming so I knew that I wanted a Subaru, though I didn't know which one. I was leaning towards the Crosstrek but really had no idea. I wandered into several dealerships and had a few conversations that had little to no real substance, this was a major purchase I was not going to work with just anybody. Upon walking into CitySide I was instantly greeted by various members of the sales department but then I saw Mike. Stick with me for a second here, imagine a blistering hot day in a massive stone stadium the sun beating down upon all on lookers. In the center a battle has sprung out, various mere mortals dishing out their sales pitches and knowledge all were defeated by the demon beast, then out of nowhere he arrived. A man standing only 5'6'' he was once an underdog but you could tell by his beard that he must be the greatest Kahl of his generation!(GameOfThrones reference) A seasoned warrior here as a show of strength to reinforce the Empire that is the Greater Boston automobile industry. Seriously though, after meeting with Mike and having him answer questions for me and him asking me the right questions about what I wanted, we made a deal. He handled my purchase with great attention and care, he was not forceful like some agents can be. I feel great about my decision to buy, and Mike had a big part in that. I would recommend him to anyone. I just realized that I referred to myself as a demon beast, I am ok with that. Peace out! OH AND ENJOY YOUR NEW CAR! More
Lovely experience Thomas was great with his service. I applaud his patience because I was a more difficult customer with a more complex financial situation. Thomas an Thomas was great with his service. I applaud his patience because I was a more difficult customer with a more complex financial situation. Thomas and his manager walked me through every process, and did not pressure me once to buy from them. I even asked about an offer from another dealership that was advertising a lower price; they did not coerce me to buy from them. Rather, they told me to just go to the other dealer and see how much less transparent they were with prices and services... Cityside was right. The other dealerships had a lot more fine print to their advertisements. The fact that they could say "go see why that price is so low" at another dealership shows how confident they are in their customer service, and rightfully so! While the price was a bit higher than I hoped to pay, the avoidance of a headache from sneaky or pushy sales reps was worth it. As I said before, Thomas was exceptionally patient and happy to work with me every step of the way. More
Great experience in buying a new car I would highly recommend Alex Stepanov as a knowledgeable dealer who demonstrates his professionalism and excellent customer service skill. I was able I would highly recommend Alex Stepanov as a knowledgeable dealer who demonstrates his professionalism and excellent customer service skill. I was able to schedule an appointment at the most convenient time for me. Alex explained all options for the model that I was looking for and helped me to make me a right decision in choosing of a model. He helped me to set up EyeSight and answered every question I had. In a few days after I bought a car, he made a follow-up call to find if I have any questions or concerns. Thank you, Alex! More
Customer manipulation, lies about other dealers I was about to purchase my first car out of college. After test-driving Honda, and Toyota, I visited Subaru, and loved 2018 Forester. As soon as I lik I was about to purchase my first car out of college. After test-driving Honda, and Toyota, I visited Subaru, and loved 2018 Forester. As soon as I liked the car, the salesman (Flavio) brought in the sales contract for me to sign - a bit too early - after a quick test drive - but he has all ready. It was a weekend, so I couldn't be qualified for a loan right there and then, and I wanted to keep looking some more. After I refused to sign, he demanded $1000 "down payment" to lock up the price. He promised me he would match any competing offer on the same car. I gave the downpayment. The next day, I looked up identical car at TrueCar.com, and got an offer from Clay Subaru (40 miles away) for a price that was $2,000 less then what Cityside offered to me in person. I also got an online offer from Cityside, saying they would match any price. I talked on the phone with Clay Subaru, to make sure there are no "hidden costs", and then called Cityside, whom I already gave $1,000 deposit, and asked to match the price. What followed is a circus performance from Cityside, filled with lies, manipulation, stretching out time.. all done in a very polite, "professional" manner, with "believe me" things.. They told me numerous false things about Clay Subaru, demanded to see their price offer in writing (I forwarded the email), told me Clay Subaru would add all kinds of extra costs on top of that offer (not true), told me when I purchase the vehicle Clay would increase the price, told me if I bought at Clay I would not be able to service the car at Cityside (Cityside is right where I live, so it was more convenient for me to buy and service there). I ended up spending one day doing this: 1. call Cityside Subaru, ask them to match the offer from Clay Subaru on identical car. 2. Listen to some false story Cityside tells me about Clay. 3. Call Clay Subaru, confirm the story that was told to me by Flavio at CitySide Subaru is not true. 4. Call Cityside, tell them that I called Clay Subaru and refuted Cityside claims. Could they please match the price cause I really want to buy from them. 5. Repeat the whole thing. Flavio also, in a very professional manner, would try to manipulate me. He would say "Here is what we can do for you, because we really want to keep you as a customer - we would lower your monthly payments to be $10 a month less then the other dealership. However this would be with a 6 year lease term, not 5 year lease term". Or "we can match their offer by giving you the same monthly payments as Clay Subaru, but your lease will be 64 months". On and on like this! I had a laptop open with Excel, where I added their "payments offer" to get the full net price, and it was always, always exactly what it was - they never went down and offered me a better deal. At the end of the day Clay Subaru were honest and true and stood by their offer. CitySide flat out refused to match a better price from another local dealership, but instead of doing so right away, they told me 6 different false stories to try to change my mind about that other dealership, and tried to manipulate me by offering a pricing scheme that appeared better, but was not. Cityside wasted an entire day. Only through my due diligence, adding all the numbers in Excel, and doing back-and-forth phone calls between the two dealerships was I able to get the truth and prevent myself from getting a worse deal. At the end, when there were no more lies and tricks in their pocket, Cityside and Flavio flat out told me they will not match the price. $2,000 is a lot of money - worth fighting over! And I really did want to buy at CitySide, because they were very close to my house, and I didn't own a car - so I had to arrange transportation to get to Clay. To be fair Cityside refunded back my $1000 "deposit" - do not fall for it - they don't "need" it from you - they just want to to secure commitment. Call back and ask for this "deposit" to get refunded, if you found a better offer. Lies and manipulation do not pay off - I shall be driving my new 2018 Subaru, which I bought at Clay Subaru, to Clay for service, even though it is 40 miles drive for me.. I do not want to have service done at the Cityside - the dealership that lies and pushes and forces and that badmouths other Subaru dealers does not deserve to have customers. More
Fantastic Experience I have worked with Darren Shin at CitySide Subaru who was super helpful. He know a lot of Subaru brand itself and the Outback I bought is amazing.
