FORD RECALL REPAIR: CLEMENT FORD VS. JIM TRENARY FORD We received a recall notice from Ford for a free repair to the rear end of our Ford Explorer. The notice instructed us to contact a JIM TRENARY FORD We received a recall notice from Ford for a free repair to the rear end of our Ford Explorer. The notice instructed us to contact any Ford dealership, so we scheduled an appointment with Clement Ford in Wentzville, Missouri. After inspecting our vehicle, Clement Ford told us it could not perform the free recall repair unless we first paid $292 for a front-end alignment. They also claimed that our vehicle needed a complete brake overhaul costing more than $650. Their total estimate exceeded $1,100 in customer-paid work—all presented in connection with what was supposed to be a free recall repair. We declined the additional work and left. The recall repair was not performed. When we returned home, we contacted Ford Customer Relations. The Ford representative confirmed that Clement Ford should not have required us to pay for an alignment or other unrelated repairs as a condition of completing the recall repair. While we remained on the phone, the representative contacted Clement Ford. After leaving us on hold for approximately 20 minutes, he returned and told us that Clement Ford claimed it had completed the recall repair on our vehicle. That statement was completely false. The repair had not been performed, and we immediately told the representative so. The Ford representative then contacted Jim Trenary Ford on our behalf and transferred us directly to its Service Department, where we scheduled an appointment. On August 27, 2026, we took our Explorer to Jim Trenary Ford. They replaced the defective rear-end part under the recall at no cost to us. They also performed a front-end alignment at no charge because replacing the recalled rear-end part affected the vehicle’s alignment. This raises a serious question: Clement Ford told us that we had to pay for a front-end alignment before it could perform the rear-end recall repair. If the recall repair itself affected the alignment, would our vehicle then have needed to be aligned a second time? It is also worth noting that Clement Ford quoted $292 for the alignment, while Jim Trenary Ford’s regular price for the same service is $153—and Jim Trenary performed it at no cost because it was required as part of the recall repair. We are senior citizens living on a fixed income. We trusted Clement Ford to perform the recall repair at no cost, as Ford promised. Instead, we were presented with more than $1,100 in proposed charges, refused the free recall repair when we declined those charges, and then learned that Clement Ford had falsely told Ford Customer Relations that the repair had been completed. Shame on Clement Ford for treating customers this way. We believe its handling of this recall appointment was dishonest and appeared designed to pressure us into paying for costly additional work. We are grateful to Ford Customer Relations and Jim Trenary Ford for stepping in and ensuring that both the recall repair and the alignment it required were completed. More

Unfortunately, everything changed when I returned with concerns about my vehicle. Rather than working toward a resolution, I felt that my concerns were dismissed, and our interactions became increasingly adversarial. What disappointed me most, however, was Randy's decision to include information about where I work and details from our private conversations in a public response to my Google review. I found that unnecessary, unprofessional, and not necessary to the underlying vehicle dispute. Even when a customer raises concerns that a dealership disagrees with, I believe those concerns should be handled respectfully and without making private conversations or personal information part of a public exchange. Based on my experience after the sale, I cannot recommend working with Randy or Clement Ford. More
I bought a brand new F250 that is currently sitting in my driveway without license plates because they didn't submit the paperwork until 5/26 to the licensing company and they did not send correct payment an driveway without license plates because they didn't submit the paperwork until 5/26 to the licensing company and they did not send correct payment and only after I contacted them and basically threw a fit did they finally respond to the licensing company to provide payment. The GM was a jerk and very disrespectful. I still don't have a second key or my plates. More
The buying experience went well it’s after I left the dealership that became a problem. They don’t return their phone calls. They still haven’t given me my paperwork. I bought the car on April 20 and I f dealership that became a problem. They don’t return their phone calls. They still haven’t given me my paperwork. I bought the car on April 20 and I finally spoke with somebody yesterday that told me my packet with my title and everything needed to go to the DMV would be ready June 11. That’s unacceptable. This dealership doesn’t do what they say they’re going to do or communicate avoid them. More
I could Wright a book on the company's incompetence. I brought the 2020 Edge with a multifunction camera message, and many safety features are not working. They charged me $199 and told me they could not fix it (FORD dealer on 2020 Ford). Told me to go to the windshield place and have the camera remounted there. Promised $199 refund but never did. The windshield place told me to replace the windshield ($1000+) and still could not guarantee the camera will work as they are not a Ford dealer. I complained to Ford Co and havent heard back. I also bought Road Hazard from them on the tires they sold me and installed. Told me it was good there and at any Ford dealer. But when I got a flat within the warranty, they first wanted to charge me, and after a long fight, they eventually processed it under the road hazard after making lots of faces. Forget it. More
I own a well maintained 2018 Ford Edge with only 62,000 miles on it. It had been a good vehicle until recently when the transmission went out and had to be replaced. Clement ford did the work for $9000. Wh miles on it. It had been a good vehicle until recently when the transmission went out and had to be replaced. Clement ford did the work for $9000. When they remounted the front tires they put them on in the wrong direction. This causes reduced traction (especially in rain), unpredictable handling, increased noise, and faster, uneven tread wear. I only discovered the error when having an emissions test done at Firestone. When it was brought to the attention of the Clement service department, they fixed the problem, but without so much as an "I'm sorry" for the mistake or for the extra trip here or for the 2 hours waiting for the issue to be corrected. It was just business as usual. I texted them later saying that I hoped this was brought to the attention of the mechanic who made the error so it would not happen to anyone else. I received no response. More
Here is my review to the manager Jason since he did not want to accommodate with me and meet face to face with me to resolve the many issues I have had with them. You might as well leave your car stranded want to accommodate with me and meet face to face with me to resolve the many issues I have had with them. You might as well leave your car stranded and broke down somewhere before taking it to them and at this point any Clement Ford dealership because they just want your money and do not care about their customers AT ALL!!!!!!
