Good Communicator My car has an intermittent excessive draw on the electrical system causing a dead battery every 3-4 months. I know this seems odd. My local mechanic recommended that I bring it in to a dealer, which I did reluctantly. To my surprize, I was listened to, respected, communicated with, and provided a mutually agreeable solution to solving this mystery ....because of BART BARTLEY at Crown Acura in the Service Dept. Although we did not solve the mystery, he allowed my car to spend several nights there providing me a loaner LISTENING to my problem and fear...being stranded again in the airport garage at midnight. I will definitely return there should a need arise. More

John Shaw - Assistant Manager I had the most delightful service experience I have ever had this week. I called Crown Acura of Clearwater to report an issue with my 2015 Acura TLX. I had the most delightful service experience I have ever had this week. I called Crown Acura of Clearwater to report an issue with my 2015 Acura TLX. I was fortunate enough to get John Shaw on the phone who I could tell immediately had my best interests at heart. He told me to bring the car right in and if they couldn’t fix it while I was there he would set me up with a loaner car. He told me that they would take care of me. As soon as I arrived he came out to greet me, took to his office where he listened carefully to my explanation of my issues. He assured me the service team would look at it right away and showed me three customer lounges I could choose from all with snacks and beverages. He knew I had to be at work at 2 pm and decided that it would be best if I took a loaner car so I wouldn’t be late. I drove off in a 2019 Acura TLX and my car was ready, washed and vacuumed the next morning. The entire experience was the best and I recommend John Shaw and Clearwater Acura to everyone! More
MDX extended warranty repair service This service was a little different because our factory warranty had recently expired. The service was quick while I waited in a very nice lounge area. The warranty paid the entire bill. More

ALso - he is very communicative about anything they see, and always provides a recommendation on what Must/should/can wait to be done. I appreciate that he doesn't "sell me" (frankly, its a large part of why I'll ultimately buy more and stay loyal to the brand). More

Acura Customers Beware! I do not trust any dealership that ignores Acura/Honda recommendations and procedures. Crown Acura performs power flushes on the transmission with BG I do not trust any dealership that ignores Acura/Honda recommendations and procedures. Crown Acura performs power flushes on the transmission with BG fluids and BG additives with a BG machine. Acura and Honda are clear: only OEM fluid is to be used and additives are never to be used. In addition, Acura/Honda strongly warns in Service Bulletins that power flushes are not to be performed, as they can cause more harm than good. Crown (and Ferman Acura) are more interested in selling non-approved services that Acura and Honda specifically say not to do.....and they do this to upsell customers, and in doing so, they void warranties and can potentially cause problems due to the non-OEM service. This is not my only run in with Crown. Several years ago, one week after getting a drain/fill of the ATF fluid at another Acura/Honda dealership, I went into Crown for a different service. An hour later, the service rep told me he “checked my ATF fluid, and it was dirty and needed to be changed.” 1) there is no need to ever check the fluid. The maintenance minder specifically tells you when to do the service. Any “check” only increases risk of contamination. 2) upon telling him I just received a drain/fill, I was told that a flush was the recommended service by Acura..... it is not. Acura specifically calls for a 1x Drain/Fill at each service interval. It should not be so hard to get an Acura dealer to perform the manufacturer’s recommended service. I take great care of my vehicle and follow maintenance to the letter. I only wish area dealerships like Crown did the same. This is why I travel to Gettel Acura in Sarasota. I can trust Gettel to get the job done, right! Crown will never see this customer in their service department again. More
