Between the price gouging, constant xx-ing, complete waste of my time, and lack of basic customer service, this was hands down one of the WORST dealership experiences I’ve ever had! I was seriously in the market for a brand-new 2026 Toyota 4Runner and ready to make a deal. Instead of being treated like a serious buyer, I was met with ridiculous pricing, unnecessary runarounds, and what felt like nothing but games. The entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of my time. What really took the cake was Michael, the Sales Manager. Not only did he NEVER follow through with a callback, but I felt completely ignored and disregarded as a customer. Apparently, acknowledging a potential customer and returning a phone call is too much to ask! If this is how management treats someone who’s ready to spend over $60,000 on a vehicle, I can only imagine what the rest of the customer experience is like. Here’s the best part: I took my business to Sansone Toyota instead, and I’m SO glad I did! Not only did they give me an INCREDIBLE deal on my brand-new 4Runner, but they treated me with respect, transparency, and genuine customer care. Quentin and Charles at Sansone Toyota showed me exactly how a dealership SHOULD operate! My advice? Don’t waste your time or money at Freehold Toyota. Save yourself the headache, skip the xx, and head straight to Sansone Toyota. Better pricing, better people, and an overall MUCH better buying experience! In July of this year, I decided to purchase a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid from DCH Freehold Toyota. That is exactly why I chose Toyota, a brand I had always associated with quality and reliability. Unfortunately, almost from the very first days after my purchase, my experience turned out to be completely different from what I expected. About three days after purchasing the vehicle, when I had already been driving it for several days, I received a call from the dealership informing me that the bank that had originally handled the financing had not approved the loan. I was asked to come back to the dealership and sign new documents with a different bank. This was very strange to me because I had been under the impression that the transaction was already complete and the financing had been approved. But the problems did not end there. From the beginning, I was unable to properly connect my phone to the vehicle’s screen and multimedia system. I returned to the dealership, and one of the employees tried to help me, but he was unable to get it working either. I was told that they would look into the issue and call me back. However, about two weeks have passed, and no one has contacted me. Then a much more serious problem occurred — my brand-new car simply would not start. I contacted Toyota Roadside Assistance, and they sent AAA to help me. They were able to start the vehicle, and I was told that perhaps I had accidentally left something on, causing the battery to drain. However, I carefully checked everything, and nothing had been left on. A few days later, the same thing happened again: the car would not start. After contacting Roadside Assistance again, the vehicle was taken to DCH Freehold Toyota. Later, I received a call saying that my car was ready and that I could come pick it up. I made the trip from Philadelphia to Freehold specifically to pick up my vehicle, assuming that it had been properly inspected and the problem had been fixed. But when I arrived, I could not take my car home because it would not start again. I simply do not understand how I could have been told that my vehicle was ready for pickup without anyone first making sure that it actually started and was functioning properly. As a result, I wasted my time traveling from Philadelphia to Freehold and back for nothing. In a very short period of time after purchasing this vehicle, I have had to deal with redoing the financing paperwork, problems with the multimedia system, a lack of promised follow-up, multiple instances of my brand-new car not starting, repeated calls to Roadside Assistance, and multiple trips to the dealership. All of this has caused me a great deal of inconvenience, wasted time, additional expenses, lateness and problems at work, and most importantly, a lot of stress and frustration. This was a major and expensive purchase for me, and I made this decision specifically because I wanted reliability and safety after my accident. I chose Toyota because I wanted to feel calm, safe, and confident behind the wheel again. Unfortunately, I am experiencing exactly the opposite. Instead of enjoying my new car, I feel extremely disappointed, and I am already beginning to develop negative feelings toward the vehicle that I purchased specifically to help me regain my sense of safety and peace of mind. I sincerely hope that Toyota and DCH Freehold Toyota will identify the actual cause of the problem, fully resolve the issues with my vehicle, and change my overall impression of this purchase. My first experience with DCH Freehold Toyota was an exceptional experience. When I arrived to a lot, I was able to walk the lot freely, inspecting the lot. I had an appointment to see a used car in their inventory. I arrived 15 minutes early, when I walked through the doors I was greeted and shown to my sales advisor that will be taking care of me. I mentioned the vehicle, I was interested in seeing the sales associate got the keys and a dealer plate and we went for a test drive. The vehicle drove exceptional. We sat back down at the desk and started talking Numbers. They were great and very straightforward we agreed on a number and got the paperwork going. Michael the sales associate was extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and firm in certain aspects of the negotiation which I appreciate. I then turned to the finance department and the finance advisor Tommy, helped me submit my credit application and came back with an approval we closed the deal. Meanwhile, my vehicle was getting detailed and was ready for me five minutes after I signed all the paperwork. This dealership is one I would recommend 1 million times over to anyone looking to buy a New or Used vehicle of any make. These guys provided the best experience possible. I cannot thank you guys enough you have gained a forever loyal customer. More
