While so many dealerships work on high pressure tactics and "making the sale", they too often forget that trust and respect go a long way with consumers, especially when it comes to a high ticket purchase like a new car. The intricacies of trust and respect are too often lost in many dealerships; burnt rapidly through high pressure sales and the process of waiting, haggling, and the back forth nature of buying a car. To a 24 year old teacher making a first major car purchase, I could not believe how condescending many dealerships could be as they tried to force me into a car they knew I couldn't afford.
