UNSAFE: Technicians forgot to tighten my wheel. Major safety hazard. I am writing this to warn others: Do not trust this service department with your safety. My experience at GMC Delray went bey Major safety hazard. I am writing this to warn others: Do not trust this service department with your safety. My experience at GMC Delray went beyond bad service—it was arguably negligent. I brought my truck in for a simple oil change and new tires. I picked it up a week later (after zero communication from my advisor, Gabby) and paid the bill. Immediately upon leaving the lot, I heard a loud thumping noise. By the time I reached my destination, the noise was severe. I checked the vehicle and discovered the front passenger wheel was loose. The technician had failed to tighten the lug nuts, and the tire was literally working its way off the vehicle while I was driving. This was a massive oversight that could have caused a serious accident. When I returned to the dealership, there was no sense of urgency or accountability. While they did send someone to tighten the wheel eventually, I was promised a call from the General Manager to address how a vehicle could be released in such a dangerous condition. It has been over a week, and I have heard nothing. Just silence. This isn't my first issue here, either. In the past, they misdiagnosed a check engine light on my parents' vehicle for years (claiming it was an unfixable "glitch") and once returned a vehicle with the battery cover unscrewed and rolling around the backseat. There is a clear pattern of carelessness here. Mistakes happen, but failing to tighten a wheel and then ignoring the customer is unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and the safety risk—go to a local shop that actually quality checks their work. If they treat a career General Motors employee vehicle this way, how do you think they will treat you? More
