We appreciate your past business and wish circumstances would have been better this time. Unfortunately, you brought in a quote from another dealer that over-stated your trade-in value by $1500. We worked with you and offered more than appraised value towards the purchase of a new vehicle, but were not able to meet on an agreeable number. Again, having a trade in low balled is completely normal at traditional dealerships. I was not so upset by a low offer that I would post a negative review. The reason for posting a negative review was the dealership’s representative being unwilling to give the online advertised discounts. This negative experience was related to their carelessness, or unwillingness to apply dealer discounts found online. It took the negative review on this website, being contacted by Ryan via email complaining that he’s has never received a negative review, and then a call from Jim Russo before they offered the online advertised discounts. Had Elco applied all those discounts when presenting me with the final numbers sheet, I’m positive I would have taken more time to consider the offer, but I believe would have purchased the new car without negotiation or further hustle. I hate wasting time and negotiating. Having to complain online and waste my life going back and forth with them just to get advertised pricing for the new vehicle purchase price lead me to another dealership to find a new car. For anyone who is interested, Carmax was who “overvalued” my trade. They have in fact given me the best prices on my cars. I pretty much almost always sell my cars to Carmax. I find selling at Carmax is a better deal than purchasing at Carmax. They can have fair prices on some classes of vehicles, but be too high on others. I rarely make purchases from Carmax, but have in the past. They make it easy to find exactly what your looking for if you are wanting a specific vehicle in a particle trim and color, etc. This time around, the old car will be sold to Carmax and I will have to purchase the new car at another Chevy dealership. I found a different dealer that seems promising to work with and will go on my next free day. I thought I was done with selling at Carmax after my last positive experience at Elco, but this trip proved Elco is like any other car dealership... the worst and a waste of time. If you decide purchase from them, be sure to make sure they applied all their online advertised discounts. They are either careless or greedy when presenting the sales sheets to customers. I’m leaning towards sales tactic greedy. Be smart with your money and good luck car shopping everyone! FYI, my comment isn’t showing up on Google so I suspect they for sure pay to filter reviews there. Good to know... typical.
